I do like the Just Flight HD DC10...although landing on the shortish runway at KSNA was a bit of fun.

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

Nice! Brings back memories from my college days. In FSX, I've gotten the 744 in and out of SNA so don't feel bad about bothering the rich folks there in Newport. In '69, Nixon took Air Force One (then a 707) into KSNA.

Like the screen shots, that is a very good feet to accomplish, my dad was a test pilot on the DC-8 all series, DC-9's, DC-10's. I don't think my dad would of attempted to pulled that off at SNA. Thank God for FS9 or FSX, by the way they did have this paint scheme on United Airlines as I have a very large scale plastic model of that scheme. As for Nixon landing the 707 in there I was there it was amazing to pull off they were wondering if it could take off as it needs more runway, but it was done. Kenny

Oh, I believe you. It's just that my father was a UAL pilot since before they had jets, and never mentioned the DC-10. Never saw one when I went to work with him at SFO, either, BUT...

Having said all that, maybe they just didn't run them on the West Coast/Hawaii/overseas in general routes. Dad's favorite was the stretch 8's, closely followed by the 737's (minipigs, he called them), and he never liked the 727 or 747. He claimed the 727 was kinda rough to land in crosswinds, and that the 747's were too automated to be much "fun" to fly. He may have just avoided the DC-10 as being too big/fat to be "fun" to fly too, I don't know.

I can only report what my personal expreriences were, and they are FAR from comprehensive when it come's to all UAL aircraft, that I know for sure :D I wasn't trying to say UAL didn't HAVE the DC-10's, I just didn't know about them, that's all. I certainly meant no offense to anyone at all.

Gorgeous set of pics, Alex! Would like to see some VC shots if you don't mind. Do you think JF's DC-10 is better than CLS's version? That is if you ever had the CLS version.
