Airbus A330-200 Strobe Light Help

I Downloaded an American Airlines A330-200 from avsim. Aircraft works great with one small exception. The strobe lights work but they flash where they aren't supposed to. They flash above the wing instead of where they normally are located.

Here is the link to the aircraft i down loaded

I downloaded the aircraft at the top of the page that was added on 2/19/2015

Here are the lights settings in the aircraft config.

[LIGHTS]

Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing

light.2 = 1, 0.200, 0.000, 14.500, fx_beaconh ,

//light.6 = 5, 18.000, 27.000, -4.000, Opensky_wing_light,

//light.7 = 5, 19.933, 8.827, -4.368, Opensky_wing_light,

//light.8 = 5, 18.000, -27.000, -4.000, Opensky_wing_light,

light.13 = 2, -111.900, 0.100, 11.300, fx_strobeh ,

If someone can tell me what i need to change to make the strobe lights flash where they are supposed to that would be amazing. Thanks for the help in advance. Attached is a picture of where the strobe lights flash. Thanks again for the help.

In the lights setting the third value along is the vertical height. So you would need to change it to see which way they need to go (ie is +/- "up") and adjust it from there.

As for which line, I believe its line 4 and line 5

Yes, lines 4 & 5, the 4th number after the equals sign ( = ), in your case 13.380, try a change to 12.380 and see where they flash. If they are too low (below or in the wing), move them back up a small amount, say 12.480, and see where they wind up. If they are close to where you want them, make even smaller changes till they are spot on. You can do the same thing with the next number closer to the equals sign, in this case 93.100 and -93.100, to move the lights left or right, closer to or away from the body of the plane, and the 2nd number after the equals sign, in this case -40.200 to move them fore and aft.

After every change, make sure you SAVE, and make a save of the original file before you start. After you save a change, reload the aircraft. Personally, I go to the Aircraft Select screen and re-select the same bird. A hint: Make sure that ALL AI traffic is turned off before you try to reload the plane. FS9 seems to have a problem with reloading the aircraft with AI traffic on. Just a heads up.

Hope this is what you need :D

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

Keep in mind that this is a ProjectOpensky model and they love to do wingflex. You may be able to adjust the strobes so they look OK on the ground but will be totally off the wing when in flight.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

^Yep.

The lights are positioned to match the wind flex in flight. You can't have it both ways unfortunately. Newer models tend to place the lights in the model itself and thus avoid this problem.
