skytrek
How to make a small fortune in aviation. You start out with a large one. (Not that I have a fortune to spend on the thing) Ever since I bought this secena I have been throwing money at it. First the left mag packed it in and then the right mag went out in sympathy with the left. Then the right prop wouldn’t feather. And then during an engine run-up I switched the left mag off the right engine started making noises like a filing cabinet falling down a flight of stairs. Then the wheels wouldn’t retract. And now I find out the left prop needs to be crack tested and only has 6 hours left to run. I’m curious to see what happens to it next. What was I thinking? skytrek
PhantomTweak
Airplane: A hole in the air into which your money vanishes. ;) :pilot: :D Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again! Sgt, USMC, 10 years proud service, Inactive reserve now :D
skytrek
Airplane: A hole in the air into which your money vanishes. ;) :pilot: :D Pat☺ You are not wrong phantom. My money has grown wings! This is the sort of thing that happens when you fail to take good advice. A wise old pilot ounce told me; if it flies, floats, or fornicates your better off renting it. skytrek
dbauder
I feel your pain. All I can suggest is a fixed gear single, fewer moving parts. Also less decisions to make if the engine goes out. :)
skytrek
Did my training in a c150 than went on to 172,182, 177, 210, pa28 warrior and archer. And then on to twins. Going back to singles? Haven’t flown one for years. It’s an ego thing. The cheapest single I found, that was any good, was 3 times more than what I paid the pa34. Just wish I had enough in the first place to buy & maintain a real full sized aircraft. Too late now though. Keith
