As an old, retired Coastie, I do like that bird, and I wouldn't let Jan touch it for love nor money if I were you. He is very much a natural born airman with a very reliable reputation for smashing the nose of his aircraft, fixed wing or otherwise, solidly into the tarmac!

Well i am a lousy Heli-Pilot, but, for sure i love your Helicopter. So I don´t have the reputation for beeing a test-Pilot. But i would pay a Million Dollars to watch the skills of our Great Airman Jan Van Peerhoven.......muhahahaaaa!!!!

Say Thorsten, my good German friend, I don't think I like your "muhahahaaaa!!!!" at all!!

Relax, Peer! Just because you have rather bad luck landing, doesn't me we don't have the same! I can't count how many flights resulted in my plane running out of fuel and crashing halfway through the approach! *Bloody KLM 737!*

Though I'm a natural born airman with a very reliable reputation regarding helo's, I don't think it's a good idea to be testpilot for your project David! For your own sake that is.:)

David, make sure ANY helo that Jan test pilots for you has some BIG pontoons on it. Water is always involved with his landings!:pilot:

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

I dunno, that chopper looks like the old one, Sea King??, that used to land right on the water. Had a vaguely boat shaped bottom to the main body, and the two wheel sponsons either side front (just abaft the cockpit area, I think) were stabilizing floats, IIRC. Perfect for Jan, of course, much like the Marine's CH-46. SEALs love em, they can land on the water, and the SEALs drive their inflatable boats right up the rear ramp, and start screaming "GO GO GO!!!" (they are usually under fire :P) Gotta make sure they have less than 50% fuel in the sponsons though, or you get what I like to call the Famous "Jan Effect". Or "BLUBB!!"

I still miss the "ABANDON CHUTE" the Marines (and Navy of course!) put on the underside of the SAR birds. It just looks "right" somehow.

Still, great looking bird. If I were worth a crap as a test pilot, I'd give it a shot, but I'm involved in another project ATM. Sorry...

Pat☺

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!
