downloading files

Here is the safest way I know. Easily reversed:

Create a folder on your desktop and give it a name that corresponds with your download.

Unzip the download to that folder. Generally there will be a "readme.txt" file that includes comprehensive instructions on how/what/where the files go.

In this case it is a panel. It is only a 2D setup, so, if your bird has a VC, you'll have to copy the [VcockpitXX] sections from the original panel.cfg to the new panel.cfg.

I ALWAYS rename new panel folders to reflect the download ie: panel.tds_787_p_p

When that panel folder is placed inside an aircraft folder, open the aircraft.cfg and put the new name in the panel= Line ie: panel=tds_787_p_p

If you don't like it delete the new folder and return the aircraft.cfg to it's original state.

If aircraft.cfg points to a panel folder, that has a name after a period, such as panel.FSX

If you place the new name then // in front of the original, ie: panel=tds_787_p_p //FSX

You'll know what the original was, in case you want to put it back...Don
