I'm downloading the THUD to take a look. I'll report back.

UPDATE: Looks like this aircraft has a good 2D cockpit and a non-working VC. Nothing to fix in the panel folder and probably a lot to do in the model folder which would probably have to be done by someone with the source code for it.

I am trying a download from Simviation for an Acceleration F-105.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!!

http://simviation.com/1/browse-Military-57-23 It's the 7th download on the page. Also needed are the panel update and missing gauges files. Just hit the links in the download for those. I did not put the necessary files in my download yet.

Republic f105 thud-Top of page.

Notice the plate that blocks the view.

I tweaked the panel a bit but that plate makes me go to 2d when landing.

I would assume it is in the model and not editable?

Thanks, Maz

I tried that one with the same result.

I think the problem is I don't have FSX full version.

I am currently using the demo with PJI,TAPA,SABA,etc.

Learning to edit Aircraft and panel .cfg's I find fascinating.

When I get the full version at least I'll have a clue.

OK, now your problem makes more sense. You need the full version and I guess you missed the $5.00 sale for FSX Steam Edition (which is the same as Gold Edition......I know, I know...minus the SDK) You will need a bare minimum of FSX with SP1 and SP2 installed for most 3rd party aircraft to show properly.

I doubt FSX gold would run well on an ACER Aspire X1430 Radeon HD graphics with 1.85 GHZ and 4G ram Windows 7 64 bit PC.

So far most 3rd party freeware aircraft I have downloaded work.

f4,f5Tiger2,f15,t45Bae,Mig15,Mig21mf,Mig23,Mig29,Viperden F16,Super etendard, and OV10 all work fine in the demo.

Thanks for the help,

You just might be surprised at how well it will run, with managed expectations.

One big advantage of having the full version instead of the demo is that the demo is not patched to SP2 and cannot take advantage of the fixes the service packs provide.

I have an i3 laptop that runs at 1.8GHz with onboard graphics and I can get a smooth sim at 15 FPS.

Granted I have to keep the sliders down and mostly fly in clear skies. And no PMDG planes on that lappie, for more reason than one.

Given the choice of this laptop or no flying, the choice is clear.

If you time it right you can get FSX at Steam for $5. Pretty cheap experimaent, if you ask me.
