FSX CPU usage goes to 100% and freezes

1) Any where from the middle to the end of a mission, my computer jumps up to CPU Usage 100%. The only way I can bring it down is to continually restart my computer.

 

2) After my flight crashes and I try to restart where I left off (last saved). The saved flight will load up to 83% then crash saying "Fatal Error". How can I fix tthese issues?

List what your fatal error is.

 

Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Event Viewer, select Custom Views-> Administrative Events.

One of the listed events will be for your CTD. The "Faulting Module" should point to the problem area.

 

Tell us what the Faulting Module is! That will point us in the direction of the proper error, aiding in troubleshooting.

If there is not one listed:

you will need to do as previously noted

 

 

No Faulting Module? ->

Remove all of the add-ons, and test the sim. If it works OK, then reinstall them one at a time and test.

Be sure to test each thoroughly before moving on to the next

 

Usually when your system goes to 100% FSX is looking for a file or whatever and it's missing.

Thanks Zippy, I tried it and didn't see anything under the faulting module. Removing all the add-ons and reinstalling them? Wow that's going to be a lot of work. Thanks for the reply.

Before you start uninstalling, try to post the error log here.
