That NAS Fallon bird looks very very similar to the bird they were using in Yuma in 88 when it went by on the way to an FA-18 crash. It was going awful fast to be on the taxiway, and a darn blade nearly took my friggen HEAD OFF! I was working on the ladder to the cockpit of a KFIR parked next to the taxiway on the VMFAT-401 flightline, and naturally, I looked up when I heard the SAR bird, hangared close-by, fire up. I am a huge aviation freak, so I watched him lift to a hover, then HAUL stall, as the saying goes, down the taxiway at/past me before I could react and jump down. Scared the living heck outta me, let me tell you! Other than THAT, wonderful pics!
