This GPU is brand new, still in the sealed box. I bought 2 of these thinking my brother would need one for his rig, but he passed on the offer. So I have an extra. If anyone wants to upgrade their rig let me know. I'm asking $1400. Contact me at jbaty1189@gmail.com.

For me the sim is running good after the UK update. It seems to be very smooth, not perfect, but close. I haven't changed any settings. But I checked my system performance, and my gpu is now being used at 100%. Before the update, it was only being used at 80%. My CPU usage is 24%. I have a 2070 and a Intel 10980. I guess this also means, that gpu is a lot more important, for the sim than, CPU. I'm wondering, if anyone else has noticed a increase in gpu usage, after the update?

Hey Folks, I have a problem using the mentioned two-add on together, because: 1. Carenado ATR 72-500 do not have Ground Power simulated, or APU build in. 2. GSX do not allow ANYTHING with working engines, to do. 3. GSX handles the ATR H mode start as running engine. As you can deduce from these points, the battery will discharge during passengers boarding... Do one of you knows any solluion for this problem? Cheers: Joe

Hi, back again from the cycle of "play FSX -> get tired of low frames -> get tired of tweaking FSX for FPS -> give up on FSX (for a while)". I'm sure some can relate ;) Anyways... I can get OK framerates (20-30, usually not consistent) with my system specs, but only without rain and with everything looking just a bit too old-gamey. I'd like to be able to increase settings a little, fly in weather other than perfect, use some (freeware) detailed aircraft, maybe some really light shaders... you get the idea. I know that FSX, being a simulator, is way more CPU-bound, but I've heard of people with GPUs, and CPUs worse than mine, get higher frames than me. SO, would a sub-$50 GPU be an improvement from no GPU at all? Also, is rain based on CPU or GPU? Thanks! Specs and settings below: -------- Windows 10 Pro Intel i5-2400 @ 3.10GHz 8GB RAM 1920x1200 Monitor -------- GRAPHICS 1024x768x32 Bilinear Global Texture: Very High Preview, Lens FLare, Light bloom, and Avd. Anim. are all off AIRCRAFT "Ultra High" preset SCENERY "Terrain and water" Medium 42 38m 1m Mid 2x Checked "Scenery Objects" Normal Normal Unchecked Medium WEATHER "Medium Low" preset Traffic "Very Low" preset Here's an idea of what that looks like: 20 FPS in the rain, even lower in the cockpit.

I want to upgrade one component on my PC in anticipation of getting the MS flight simulator. Current: I5 9400K, 32 Gb Ram, Nvidia GTX1650 4Gb. Which component should I upgrade to get the most bang for my buck in the context of this sim?? I'm assuming GPU? Thanks!

/images/notams/notams20/vulk0415.jpgThe Linux blog Phoronix has tested X-Plane 11.50 (using Vulkan)with over twenty different GPUs and shared their results here: X-Plane 11 Flight Simulator With Vulkan Performing Very Well OnLinux - NVIDIA/AMD OpenGL vs. Vulkan Benchmarks - Phoronix. Last week the X-Plane 11.50 beta was released with its long awaitedVulkan renderer to complement its mature OpenGL rendering code. Sincethen we've been busy benchmarking with 23 different graphics cards ofAMD Radeon and NVIDIA GeForce line-ups while running Ubuntu Linux andcomparing the OpenGL vs. Vulkan rendering performance for thisrealistic flight simulator.
