All TorqueSim aircraft will be getting updatedto X-Plane 12 for free. The AFM M20 Collection will not be seeingfurther updates, as it is being replaced with the upcoming TorqueSimM20R (discounts will be made available to all AFM M20 owners). The UpdatesTorqueSim SR20/22 Series, G1000 and EntegraWe have multiple updates planned for this line. For the G1000s, weexpect to release the 1.3.0 update soon, upgrading our internalprocesses and adding some new features and improvements. This updatewill also include many internal updates in preparation for X-Plane12. Following the release of X-Plane 12, we plan to release a largerfree update for each aircraft in the line bringing full compatibilitywith X-Plane 12, and taking advantage of all the great new features inthe sim. TorqueSim BN-2B/BN-2T IslandersThis product will also be seeing a free update to X-Plane 12! Atthis time, it has not been determined if this update will be splitinto two parts, like the TorqueSim SR Series aircraft. TorqueSim Pocket RocketThis aircraft will be seeing a free update to X-Plane, with theaddition of the many new features X-Plane 12 offers, and somesignificant internal improvements, including a variant equipped withthe Allison 250 B17 engine. The New AdditionsTorqueSim CitationJet 525We are really excited to release this aircraft. While we are stillsquarely in the middle of development, we do want to make sure we canget this aircraft to you as soon as it is ready. This will be our mostin-depth aircraft from TorqueSim yet, and by far the most accurate andfun light-jet for X-Plane, or any flight-sim, to date. We are reallygoing deep with custom systems, failures, avionics, and more. Expectlots of exciting updates between now and release. This aircraft isplanned to release for X-Plane 12 only. TorqueSim Take Command! Mooney M20RWhat started as a massive overhaul has grown into a whole newaircraft. The 3D and textures are completely new, intricate, andabsolutely phenomenal. The systems are being totally redone fromscratch, benefiting from the custom engine model and systems in theTorqueSim SR Series. Both the M20R Ovation II and M20R Ovation III are being done withgreat care, the former featuring a steam-gauge cockpit with options toshow combinations of the RealSimGear G5, RealSimGear G500, RealityXPGNSs and RealityXP GTNs, in addition to the default X-Plane GNSs. Thelatter features our customizations on top of the X-Plane X1000,providing a great G1000 glass cockpit experience. Expect more updateson this in the months to come. This aircraft is planned to release forX-Plane 12 only. The RetirementAFM M20 CollectionThe AFM M20 was the start of AFM Simulation’s venture into X-Planedevelopment, and what led to the formation of TorqueSim, mergingforces with the art prowess of Attitude Simulations. Seeing dozens ofupdates since its initial release in 2017, its time for retirement hascome, with the development of the TorqueSim M20R taking its place. TheAFM M20 will still be available for X-Plane 11, and all customers ofthe AFM M20 will receive the upgrade discount to the TorqueSimM20. The new visuals and systems are a remarkable improvement and willtruly do the M20 justice. Twitter announcement Source

TorqueSim SR22 Development Update 5 /images/notams/notams20/torq0331/torquesim-sr22a-01.jpgAircraft developer TorqueSim, have provided an update on theirSR22 for X-Plane 11: Aerodynamics is one of many reasons why we all love X-Plane. That'salso why, just like with the engine, aerodynamics on the TorqueSimSR22 have been designed to take full advantage of the simulator'scapabilities and get as close as possible to the real worldequivalent. Therefore a professional flight model of the SR22 wascreated by X-Aerodynamics in 2018 - over many months of work using allavailable resources and documents. It is up to the most recentstandards and greatly benefits of the flight model improvementsintroduced with version 11.41 of the simulator and is ready for11.50. Key FeaturesHighly accurate cruise speeds and rates of climbPrecise matching of stall speeds and glide ratioCorrect take-off and landing distancesSpot-on shape of the aircraft body to supply the most accurate input for X-Plane's flight model effectsAccurate control surface areas and deflections for realistic turn ratesSpecial FeaturesA stack of custom airfoils ships with the flight model to resemblethe scimitar-shaped propeller as well as the Roncz wing profileintroduced with G3 of the SR22 which has some interestingcharacteristics. /images/notams/notams20/torq0331/torquesim-sr22a-04.jpgCuffed Wing DesignThis term refers to the non-continuous leading edge with itscharacteristic droop on about the outboard half. Thus the outboardsection features a lower angle of incidence than the inboard sectionand is still flying while the inboard part is already stalled. /images/notams/notams20/torq0331/torquesim-sr22a-03.jpgStall StripsThe real wing offers stall strips to complete the cuff effect, andour airfoil polars contain modifications in the places where these arelocated to accurately account for their effect. Stall strips are smallattachments mounted at the leading edge located on the wing´s root, triangular in shape. At high angles of attack, they trip the laminarboundary layer at a location where stall is most favorable to onset, causing earlier flow separation and consequently a sooner stall thanon the outer wing portions. /images/notams/notams20/torq0331/torquesim-sr22a-02.jpgTogether with the cuffed wing design, the SR22 wing is engineeredto stall from inboard to outboard, allowing for maximum roll controland spin prevention way into the stall. /images/notams/notams20/torq0326/torquesim-islander02.jpgIt's been close to two weeks since we announced the Islander as aTorqueSim project, and we figured it’s time to give you a look at whathas happened since. Last time we showed you pictures, our Islander wore Cape Air'siconic dark blue livery. This week, we’re featuring VAL's strikingorange/blue combo in our exterior shots. /images/notams/notams20/torq0326/torquesim-islander01.jpgWhat's more, we're finally ready to show off the interior andpanel. We elected to withhold pictures of these parts the last time, knowing we had yet to add many of the details that give this aircraftits character: The BN-2 has been in service for over half a century, and we wanted our model to reflect some of this history. Islanders fly all over the world. Whether rain or shine, snow, ortropical heat, short jungle strips, or large international airports, these aircraft serve in some of the most difficult conditions known inaviation. For this reason, we’ve added a highly capable avionicspackage, dual gps, but also the redundancy of full gauge sets for bothpilot and copilot. /images/notams/notams20/torq0326/torquesim-islander03.jpgAnd while our screenshots show off the traditional steam gauges, wehave also done testing on a version making use of AFM's G5instrumentation. What’s more, our Islander features a full set ofcircuit breakers with accurate amperages (taken straight from anactual Islander Parts Catalog). /images/notams/notams20/torq0326/torquesim-islander04.jpgThey're integrated with a powerful custom-coded electrical systemwhich far exceeds X-Plane’s in scope and capability. A custom KFC 225autopilot system and Garmin-like transponder round out thepackage. She'll take you anywhere you want to go, reliably. Finally, we're pleased to announce that beta testing of thisproject is planned to begin shortly. Stay safe in these trying times, friends. Our thoughts go out toall of you, and we hope this crisis will be over soon. Source
