/images/notams/notams22/nmg0910/cape-town-1.jpgWe have been working on Cape Town International Airport forMicrosoft Flight Simulator 2020 for a while now. Unfortunately, the airport is not ready for release yet, but wehave made quite a lot of progress since we have started. The screenshots show some of the areas of the airport that are near completion,or which have been completed already. There is quite a lot of workthat still needs to be done, but we hope to have this package readysometime in October of 2020. /images/notams/notams22/nmg0910/cape-town-2.jpg /images/notams/notams22/nmg0910/cape-town-3.jpg /images/notams/notams22/nmg0910/cape-town-4.jpgSource

/images/notams/notams21/orbx0611.jpgLandmarks Cape Town is an exciting addition to our top sellingLandmarks and Cityscape series for Microsoft Flight Simulator, whichincludes classic locations such as Sydney, Singapore, London andParis. Cape Town is one of those cities that doesn't need much of anintroduction though, perhaps in this case, it's more the uniquegeographic position than the downtown skyline itself. Also referred toas the "Mother City" - as the oldest urban area in southern Africa -Cape Town is framed by the iconic Table Mountain and the AtlanticOcean near the southernmost tip of the African continent. Today, almost 4 million people live in the metropolitan area, with a diversemix of ethnic backgrounds. The harbour basin, situated right in front of downtown, isimpossible to overlook. We've added many custom vessels, docks, cranes, and other industrial infrastructure. Moreover, the westernsection of the port is being transformed into a tourist andresidential zone where you'll see the new shopping malls, condos, andmarinas. As with our other Landmark City titles, we've put a lot of effortinto recreating key features and points of interest throughout thecity, reflecting its fascinating mix of older and modernarchitecture. The close proximity of downtown and port also makes forstunning visuals at night, and we even included an (optional) rhinooutline near the top of Table Mountain, which gets projectedoccasionally to support anti-poaching campaigns. Beyond the city, visit the infamous former prison on Robben Island, explore the University of Cape Town's campus on Table Mountain'seastern slopes, or fly around the Cape of Good Hope where the Atlanticmeets the Indian Ocean and the nearest landmass to the south isAntarctica, some 2,500 miles distant. Cape Town Int'l (FACT) lies 10 miles to the southeast but there arealso several smaller airfields in the area, such as Ysterplaat AFB,Stellenbosch Aerodrome, Morning Star Airfield, and two short runwayson Robben Island. For helicopter pilots we've included a number of hardened helipads in the city as well as on vessels in the harbour. Source
