The design team at Sierrasim Simulation has been busy creatingSouth American airports for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. Todaythey announce the release of three additional airports, SKBG PalonegroInternational Airport in Colombia, SEGU Jose Joaquin de Olmedo InternationalAirport in Ecuador and SKMZ La Nubia Airport in Colombia. Sierrasim Simulation – SKMZ La Nubia Airport for MSFS /images/notams/notams20/sier1015/SRS-225-skmz-msfs.jpgLa Nubia Airport (IATA: MZL, ICAO: SKMZ) is an airport servingManizales, Colombia, 8 km (5 mi) southeast of the city’s downtown. Due to its short runway and limited ramp space, the only aircraftthat can use the airport are turboprop aircraft such as the Fokker 50,ATR 72, and Dash 8. The main problem of La Nubia airport isweather. Sometimes shut down due to fog, rain, or winds, it isdifficult for airlines to offer a reliable schedule for the passengerswishing to visit Manizales and Caldas. Combined with its daylight-onlyhours of operation and limited runway length. Runway 28 has a 75 meter (246 ft) displaced threshold. TheManizales VOR-DME (Ident: MZL) is located 3.7 nautical miles (6.9 km)west of the runway 10 threshold. The runway has a steep drop-off intoa river valley to the south. There is high terrain north and south ofthe airport. It is the second busiest airportin Ecuador. In July 2014 the airport domestic area was enlarged; now theairport is capable of handling up to 7.5 million passengers peryear. An exit tax is levied on all international tickets, however itis no longer required to pay at the window when exiting thecountry. The airport provides the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Area andsurrounding towns with access to international and domesticflights. The airport receives flights from major cities in Colombia aswell as international flights from Panama City. The main terminal is25 minutes from the city in the fast lane of the highway west toGiron. It is currently positioned as the eighth largest airport inColombia; for this reason the expansion and construction of a newNational boarding area is being developed. /images/notams/notams20/sier0906/la-nubia-1.jpgA few days after releasing SKMZ MSFS, I share with you theadvances, the stage will have an inclined runway designed with MSFS SDK,model textures with MSFS SDK effects, own platform textures, emblematic buildings of the city! Airport La Nubia services the city of Manizales, Colombia. Located5 miles from the city, its short runway and limited ramp space onlyallow smaller turboprop airliners to use the airport. It is also knownfor its difficult weather. /images/notams/notams20/sier0906/la-nubia-2.jpg /images/notams/notams20/sier0906/la-nubia-3.jpgSource Sierrasim Simulation Releases SKPS Antonio Nariño For MSFS
