It's anincremental update that requires build 1.6b571 or 1.6b605 installed inyour system. Our TSS unofficial merge is fully compatible with 1.7b722and you won't have to install it again if you already had it onprevious version. The main new feature is the EFB addition and its included apps(more details can be found in the included EFB Manual and EFB FlightTutorial), but this build includes a bunch of fixes and enhancementsto further rise the bar of our simulation. /images/notams/notams20/madd0807/efb.jpgAs usual, even if we have tested all for about a month, we'redeploying this new build as an Open Beta first, to be sure that noproblems arise when making new "official" full installers. Full price is €95 plus VAT, but if you own Fly the Maddog X 64 bitedition for P3D v4.4 - v4.5, you are entitled to the special upgradeprice for buying the P3D v5 of €15.00 (excl. VAT) only. When purchasing the MD-82 base pack, if you own the MD-83 & MD-88variants expansion pack for P3D v4.5 as well, you will receive thecorresponding P3D v5 version for free. Fly the Maddog X for P3D v5 supports natively Active Sky P3D,and implements the new dual beam radar feature out of the box. Fly the Maddog X for P3D v5 includes a BETA Trueglass version. Itworks 100% but have a small bug if reloading the aircraft or loadingthe aircraft after another one: some windshield textures could bepresented with a "psychedelic" effect. This is a P3D v5 bug that, whenfixed, will allow TFDi to update Trueglass installers. Source

/images/notams/notams19/madd0305.jpgSome info just to give you a brief update on the development status: We will be releasing shortly an incremental upgrade (open beta) forboth the -82 and -83/-88 packages that need 1.4b414 to be installed,it's some 40 MB. It includes bug fixing -based on your latest reports- and 2 newfeatures: 8.33 Khz radio support and ARC-DME procedures. As you know, the Maddog can fly RNAV procedures except thefollowing P-RNAV ones: P-RNAV AR containing legs RNP = 0.3P-RNAV AR containing RF Path Terminator legsThis is why, instead of developing Radious to Fix legs thatactually can't be flown neither by the real aircraft, we made thechoice to focus on ARC-DME. For coding the ARC-DME procedures we needed to change the currentAIRAC dataset. You will be shortly able to download a new datased fromNavigraph for "Fly the Maddog X P3D v4.4/v4.5" which is required forARC-DME procedures support. Aerosoft has been informed about this dataset change, but no replyso far from them. If you use NavDataPro, until they update the datasetas requested, you won't be able to fly ARC-DME but nothing else isdifferent in reference to what you are used to. That's all for now but expect other news soon, we're always at workfor enhancing the Maddog X! Source

/images/notams/notams19/madd0305.jpgI'm glad to inform you that next upcoming build (open beta), thatwill be available for download very soon, is already compatible withthe latest 4.5 release of Prepar3D, (obviously free of charge for64bit edition customers). We have just begun diving inside the new 4.5features, and you can expect Fly the Maddog X being one of the firstproducts in the market taking full advantage of the new features, witha dedicated 4.5 release. The present version (SP1b352) is officially compatible with P3D4.2/4.3/4.4 only, we have not tested it in 4.5 and we won't give anysupport for that. My suggestion is to wait just a couple of days forthe new installers. But let's talk about the new features coming withthe next build. As already stated, among the new added features there is thesimulation of the ACARS system, and the addition of the full PBRvirtual cockpit (you'll be able to enable/disable it in the same wayPBR for the external model works). There is also a huge number of fixes and enhancements in aircraftsystems, flight dynamics tuning and in our Load Managerapplication. We have also added further intagration between Fly theMaddog X and some of the most used add-on software, the most importantbeing the PFPX/Simbrief integration for route/fuel planning, the addednetworked Active Sky capability and the IVAP trasponder sync with thepanel. /images/notams/notams19/madd0305.jpgOur beta team is testing the new upcoming Fly the Maddog X release;no ETA yet but shouldn't be long! Next build adds a couple of new cool features and some bugfixing/improvements: as already stated, development is now focused onP3D v4.4 only and the new features won't be ported to any otherplatform. Anyway, we will release another Open Beta cumulative updateshortly, that will address some bugs in the other versions too. Ourproduct line will change as follows: 32 bit edition MD-82 base pack: FSX/FSX:SE/P3D v3.464 bit edition MD-82 base pack: P3D v4.2/v4.364 bit edition MD-82 base pack for P3D v4.4: P3D v4.464 bit edition MD83 & MD-88 variants expansion: P3D v4.2/v4.364 bit edition MD83 & MD-88 variants expansion for P3D v4.4: P3D v4.4Useless to say: if you own the 64 bit edition, the 64 bit editionfor P3D v4.4 will be free of charge. I'd also like to remind you thatwe have the upgrade offer for 32 bit owners for upgrading to the 64 bitedition still running. Some words on the upcoming release: being probably the first havingadded PBR to our external 3D models, we have finished integrating PBRinside the virtual cockpit! As for the external 3D model, you'll havethe option to enable/disable it independently for the VC and theexternal 3D models. Probably the core of this new build, a new level of immersion isyet to be discovered: the new ACARS messaging system will let youinteract with the airline dispatch and maintenance crew, integratingseamlessy with the mainteance system for a new leyer in our alreadydeep simulation. We are so excited of this new PBR feature in Prepar3D v4.4 we can'tresist to show you the progress. For those asking comparison betweenPBR/non-PBR, have a look at the image below. See the metal jet intake,PBR is reflecting the asphalt below and the sky above. And if you arenot yet convinced, see how the surrounding environment is reflected onthe metal of the fuselage on the Aviaco livery. This is truly a gamechanger, and please notice here at Leonardo arejust 4 days after 4.4 release... Trying to be as clear as possible, PBRmodels will be in the -83/-88 and in the -82 for everyone, the samerelease day of the variants. We won't bind you to the latest articlein the market to get the latest features working... /images/notams/notams18/leon1205/leonardo-1.jpg /images/notams/notams18/leon1205/leonardo-2.jpg /images/notams/notams18/leon1205/leonardo-3.jpgSource

/images/notams/notams18/madd0820.jpg After many hundred hours of work, I'm glad to inform this communitythat Service Pack 1 has been released. Go toour forums- download center - open beta installers. You will find build 301 readyfor download (you must login with a validated account to access thedownload). Important - Please Read Read the included SP1 Release Notes.pdf because it containsessential information you HAVE to know to install this Service Pack 1safely, get familiar with the new options/features and avoid commonmistakes. The term "open beta" means that we think this release is stableenough for a public release, but since we are not able to run it onmultiple platforms/configurations/settings/add-on issues may stillarise. Be advised, we will do everything to help if you need but NOSUPPORT WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THOSE WHO LACK KNOWLEDGE OF THE RELEASENOTES. Know issues and limitations:due the nature of the changes in the folders structure and for theimplementation of new features in the load manager, it isn't possibleto backup and restore automatically your add-on liveries and you willhave to install them again after.there might be problems with add-on liveries (missing/duplicatedtextures in vc) (related info in the release notes).the user guide and the quick guide have not been updated yet, theywill be available for download shortly.GSX Level 2 users: due limitations on the FSDT software at themoment it's not possible to let GSX determine the status of the FWDstairs, so embark/disembark is available only with GSX stairs. Therear door isn't availble for embark/disembark operations since GSXdoes not provide this option yet. We are in touch with FSDT and assoon as they fix those things, we will update the Maddog Xaccordingly.Tomato Shade users: the 3D model has changed and is no morecompatible with included profiles. This leads to SEVERE PERFORMANCEISSUES which are not related to the Maddog X. Some testers reportedthat using R&D profile almost solved. Maddog X is developed in astandard P3D environment and we can't be responsible for checking anynon-standard add-on compatibility that might influence performance inyour system.Other 3rd party add-on compatibility with this Service Pack 1 aredetailed in the release notes. In ourticketing system we have added the possibiity to reportbugs, issues and/or suggestionsWe hope you enjoy this SP1 as much as we loved making it. Leonard Fly The Maddog X SP1 Coming/images/notams/notams18/madd0820.jpgSome information on the upcoming Service Pack 1 (SP1). The changelog is huge, and will be detailed in the next few days;in the meantime, we want to share with you some information on therelease schedule and on the future of this project. SP1 will be available for both platforms, with the 64 bit editioncoming first and the 32 bit shortly after, and it will be a freeupgrade for all customers. Initially it will be released as an 'open beta', meaning theproduct is considered stable enough for public distribution, but wewant to be sure that it runs without issues for everyone who wants toinstall it, prior to giving it the status of an 'official' version. Aspecific category of support tickets will be added in our system toreport any problem should arise, that we will eventually fix withsmall updates. SP1 is a complete new installer and needs presentversion to be removed due the huge amount of changes in itsstructure. Don't worry, there will be an automatic tool integratedwith the load manager for managing your add-on liveries, and you willbe able to safely backup/restore your FMS routes. What do we have in store for the future: with SP1, the resolutionof all known issues and the achievement of the objectives we setourselves at the beginning, we consider this first part of the projectcompleted. We will continue to offer support for the 32 bit edition, but forthe further development of Fly the Maddog X we will focus on P3D v4only. As you may have read from other developers, this is mainly duethe intrinsic limitations of the 32 bit enviroment. For the owners of 32 bit edition there will always be thepossibility to update to 64 bit for just the difference between the twoversions, and we stongly encourage our customers to move to P3Dv4since we believe that the 64 bit enviroment will be the future forflight simming.
