/images/notams/notams22/psa0329.jpgOur IT experts suggested we pass on this important information in caseyou have not heard it from other sources: People using the Google Chrome browser should update as soon as possible to fix a dangerous vulnerability. Google recently released the version 99.0.4844.84 emergency updatefor its billions of Chrome users worldwide. Microsoft Edge also is affected by the security flaw, which wasdescribed as high severity. Edge uses the same Chromium open-sourcecode from Google. Microsoft has issued a patch. Google said in its news release that access to details about thebug may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated witha fix. Users of either browser can click on the three dots menu in theupper right-hand corner, click "Help" and then "About" Google Chromeor Microsoft Edge. That will show whether there is an updateavailable. CNN reported other browsers could be open to the same exploit, including Samsung's browser, Amazon Silk, Brave and Opera. Usersshould be on the lookout for updates.

/images/notams/notams21/dcs1020.jpgOur CPU multi-threading support started in 2019 when we decided toimplement several new approaches in EDGE 2.7. This was required toincrease performance as rendering demands have changed due to virtualreality, more detailed maps, greater object detail, etc. We devised asolution to render a frame in a multithreaded manner with automaticworkload synchronisation. By the end of 2020, we were confident that we are at least half waythere with a fully ready Render Graph and the required appliedprogramming. At the end of Q3 2021 we accomplished: Graphic backendEDM modelsHuman modelsAtmosphereWater and seaTerrain engineSpecial effects, particles systemNight lights for terrainsScenesCockpitsMirrorsIndicationGUIPost-effectsCascade shadowsWhat remains to be done includes:Flat shadowsDynamic lightsRadarsPropellers and similar effectsCloudsVR supportIn parallel to this massive work and upcoming modules, we continueto implement support of the Vulkan API. We have completed most of thework for a first delivery and made changes to our internal appliedgraphics API that can "shield out" the Vulkan code whilst in earlytesting. This render code supports both DirectX and the Vulkan API asdifferent DCS World branches. Source
