Flying "The Hump" Burma China India (BCI) WW2 Ops By Frank's MS Flight Sim Come see how the Allies, mainly the USA, supplied China to fight the invading Japanese in WW2. The airlift supply route involved hazardous flying over the SE tail-end of the Himalayas, hence the name "The Hump". The job was done but not without significant loss of personnel and aircraft. At the time, it was the largest airlift operation in history. Enjoy not only the history but also the flying and scenery as well. Hope you do enjoy. Cheers. In commemoration of the June 1944 D-Day landings, we have severalDCS World War II updates we'd like to bring you. We see DCS World WarII as a very important component of DCS World and it will continue togrow with new features, content, and numerous improvements. We arejust getting started. Normandy 1944 Map for DCS World UpdateWorking with the UGRA-MEDIA, the developer of the Normandy map, wewill be releasing a free update to this map in June. This map is theideal battleground for our warbirds that focuses on northern France inthe summer on 1944. Coming improvements include: More detailed objects and realistic airfield textures. The textures now reflect the more dusty, lighter, sandy surfacesRemoval of permanent structures from ALG airfieldsConcrete surfaces for the airfields of Evreux, Carpiquet, and TangmereShallow water zones along the coastal areasNew stone bridgesMore structures like farm houses outside the detailed areas of the mapAdded more objects like windmillsImproved performanceFree DCS: World War II Assets Pack UpdateTo provide a more realistic and populated World War II environment, new assets are being added to the World War II assets pack thismonth. Some of these new units include: M12 gun motor carriageM30 cargo carrierM2A1/M3 halftrackStuG IVSd.Kfz. 234/2 "Puma"Sd.Kfz. 7 artillery tractorSd.Kfz. 251Sd.Kfz. 2 KettenkradHorch staff carBarrage balloonsLCVP Higgins boatsUK soldierThere is no additional charge for all of these new units. The will give ourSpitfire far more mission capability like cross-channel patrols andground attacks. This will make the DCS Spitfire an incredibly accurate simulationof the Spitfire LF Mk.IX, with a fully interactive cockpit, detailedsub-systems, and a professional flight model. Based on hands-onfeedback from pilots that have hundreds of hours in the Spitfire LFMk.IX, we are very proud of this showcase title. Static Templates Coming to DCS WorldStatic Templates are sets of objects that can be placed on the mapand saved as a single entity. After a template is created, it can besaved and shared with others. Multiple instances of a Static Templatecan then be placed to create more interesting and populatedmissions. In addition to statics, AI units can also be placed in thetemplate.
