Hi! i am sure there must be some way i can fix this - in CFS 1, i installed the Cold War Air Power addon, however a couple of the aircraft if i select them for anything will just CTD the game, no 3d spinning model shows up for them either. So if for example i go to free flight and select the B-36, the game will crash, however for a number of other aircraft in the addon they work fine. Unfortunately there are enough faulty aircraft that i cannot play any of the missions that came with the addon either. is there a way i can ascertain what is wrong with a particular aircraft in the game? or if i upload the aircraft folder fro teh B-36 whether someone here can take a look at it and determine what the problem could be?

I've never had a problem with Crashing to the Desktop since MSFS was released. Now, after updating to MSFS VIII I can barely make it through the load screens and then the screen goes dark with music still playing then the "New Activities" Screen comes up, the music stutters a bit and I find myself staring at my normal desktop. I've tried all the recommended fixes with no change. It still shuts down at the activity screen. I ordered my software originally through the Microsoft Store. Do you know if I can re-download Update VIII to see if this might fix my issue. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hello everyone! So my FSX kept crashing after like 30 minutes of flight or less so i tried looking for solutions... So i have done a lot of reasearch and i have found some solutions after having searched and searched and searched a LOT of forums, I came across these ones: 1: Try emptying your temp folders before openning the game. 2:So i have finally figured out that FSX is a 32 bit program so becuse i have a 64 bit i think that is where my problem came from...So basically what i did is go online, download the Uiautomationcore.dll in 32bit and then i copied and pasted the new uiautoamtioncore in the main fsx folder to replace the one there and then i did the same (copy and paste) in the appdata/roaming/microsoft/FSX folder and replaced the file there as well, Now i have no more crashes at all! I hope this will help you out if your game is crashing. Greetings, Black Goku

In the past 2 days I have been getting CTD earlier and earlier. After a couple weeks of good, long FS2020 time I encountered a CTD a couple hours into the flying, then an hour into it, then 30 minutes in and now I can only manage 10-15 minutes of flying then the familiar double sound drop out and then........Ppppppppt. Not again. ASOBO! Bad ASOBO! Sucks.:(

Just a general list of things that I think MSFS2020 could work out. There are more items I could list but these are the most disruptive issues that have affected my enjoyment using MSFS2020: 1. I am not that familiar with the FSX instrument panel and virtual cockpit layout. I skipped from FS2004 to this version but it was very disconcerting trying to use the virtual-cockpit-only (FSX did have a 2-d panel option I believe, although it was the first version of the game to be geared toward use of the VC) and constantly having to re-center the view forward as well as having to use my left hand to fiddle with the mouse while flying. Several would-be crashes later I still haven't been able to really find a happy medium. I can't yet afford any VR equipment but even if I used this type of setup I can still envision scenarios where this Made-For-VR philosophy can run into issues. I would probably also need to take a few dramamine tablets prior to using it. At least for the first few weeks or so. If you want something that thoroughly immersive, cough-up the cash to rent a real-life Cessna for an hour. 2. "Active Pause" IMO has no real value in that when used, it simply freezes your position over a fixed point on Earth. Your airspeed, altitude, fuel consumption and turn rate remain active. Am I missing something here? Maybe I'm missing the point. But even the name of the feature is as oxymoronic as saying "conscious sleep" or "peaceful violence." 3. When using "Esc" to bring up the main menu, and returning to flight, your flaps are placed full-down, spoilers/speedbrakes are fully deployed, engines are reduced to idle (on certain planes, even full reverse-thrust is applied) and on a few aircraft, even autopilot and navigational settings are cancelled. So in effect, you return to a plane that is out of control. I did manage to assign "p" as an actual pause but then I noticed I could not use it as a toggle key and had to assign a key combo to unpause that requires some slight finger-gymnastics. Also, unlike previous FS versions, you can't adjust any instrument panel or plane settings when paused. This is especially chaotic when trying to reach a switch during flight. 4. I still experience Crash To Desktop on a regular basis despite numerous attempts to fix the issue or updates. 5. There is no way to temporarily disable ATC like in all previous versions of MSFS and ATC has a small but noticeable impact on framerate, in my experience, and there seems to be a connection between it and game crashes. 6. In my opinion, disecting instant replay feature from the game series was a mistake, not only did I enjoy replaying and analyzing my landings etc., I would often use instant replay on previous versions of FS when I was away from the game instead of pausing to reduce wear on my screen, knowing that I could return to normal flight with the same fuel amount and complete the flight. Why MS couldn't even keep a short, 2-4 minute instant replay is something I'm still perplexed by. 7. Cutting the rotary-wing and sailplane flight models was very disappointing. 8. Why are there only two voices used for AI ATC. Male and female. You'd think, with the complexity of the game, there would be a bit more variety in that respect.:confused::mad::mad::pilot:

Two times I've been on long flights. One london to liverpool, and just now Pittsburg to buffalo. When I start my ils landing I like to save the flight in case something goes wrong. Both times when I did this on my final approach, it ctd without saving the flight. I have nothing in my community folder.

Hello! I've been having an extremely frustrating issue for the past 2 months (since late February) in which, after around 3-4 hours of flying, FSX begins a cycle of freezing for around 45 seconds and resuming for around 5-6 seconds. The menus freeze the same way as well, but the sound from the sim continues during the freezes. This has happened in PMDG aircraft and default aircraft alike (it happened in a Trike at one point after I left the sim going for a few hours unattended) in cruise flight, complex, and default sceneries. VAS usage is well below 4 gb during these freezes. These freezes never happened before late February despite the fact that I primarily fly long-haul flights and have done this for well before the freezing issue started. The issue resolves itself if I restart FSX and resume a saved flight. There is no error message in Event Viewer. FSUIPC autosave is off. I have tried deleting fsx.cfg to no avail. Specs below (laptop): CPU: Intel® Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2601 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M (4GB DDR5 VRAM), Intel HD Graphics 530 RAM: 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Storage: 1TB HDD (5,400 RPM)

KDTW to EGLL and My First CTD! Not Cool...
DAVIDSTRAKA posted a topic in MSFS 2020 Users Screenshots
More than a 7 hour flight and just as I'm approaching London, the dreaded Crash to Desktop (CTD). It was such a beautiful approach and I was enjoying the scenery but never made it to the airport. Headed out of Detroit on a rainy day Making the approach into London It was looking good And that was it! No further would I go. Now I just need time to find time to read the AVSIM CTD guide...
