/images/notams/notams20/fsla0417.jpgAs with many developers, FlightSimLabs has made an announcementin regards to the release this week of Prepar3D v5, as well as the P3D v4.5hotfix 3. The P3D v4.5 hotfix will require that FSLabs products be updated tosupport it, so users should expect a compatibility only update withinthe next few days. The P3D v5 release includes underlying engine code changes as well asthings like changing from DX11 to DX12 which require testing of theentire product line, which is still underway. Updates when availablewill be free of charge to existing customers. In addition, plans for a number of FSLabs aircraft were announced, including the A320-X, A321-X, A319-X and a new expansion product, the "Sharklets". Source

/images/notams/notams20/fsla0130.jpgI am happy to announce that our latest update (v2.0.2.440) for theA320-X, A319-X and A321-X for P3D v4 (64-bit) is now live andavailable through our download page. This update brings some fixes and improvements to items reportedsince our v434 release. Notably in this version, you will find a fixfor the STD ATSU leap year issue, as well as fixes in friction logicthat caused high brake temperatures in "hard winter" scenarios. Note that you will need to download updated versions of the FSLabsprovided liveries, as there were a few small differences in theupdated models which require the affected liveries to be updated aswell. We have already updated those for your downloading pleasure. A few people are wondering what is to follow - we have alreadyshared that we have been working on a Sharklets extension to ouradd-on family, this should be available for purchase within the comingmonths. Development work to follow that project is under way, but it'sheavily influenced by the release timetables of Microsoft FlightSimulator (or "FS2020" as people have started calling it now) and, contrary to a few other developers out there, we'd rather announcemore detailed plans for it as soon as we have coordinated scheduleswith Microsoft (way too many NDAs and I am surprised how some peopletend to ignore them). The A321-X paint kit is ready and we expect to have it uploadedwithin the next 24-48 hours as well. Source

/images/notams/notams19/labs1224.jpgThe biggest and longest cousin in the A32X Series family, theA321-X accommodates for much bigger statistics, such as three seatingconfigurations and a maximum takeoff weight of approximately 93.5tons. Expanding on FSLabs' ground-breaking visual effects, windshieldrain and airframe icing simulation, along with a fully custom animatedexternal model and FSLabs' unique 3D sound engineering, the A321-Xdebuts the Cabin Camera System, integrated into the lower ECAMdisplay, to show a live video feed of the cabin, while passengers areboarding and de-boarding, integrating very closely with FSDreamTeam'sGround Services X (GSX) Level 2. The A321-X features A321-specific flight dynamics, engineperformance models and handling characteristics developed inconsultation with real airline pilots and using thousands of datapoints derived from hundreds of test flights in the realaircraft. Both the CFM56-5B3 and IAE V2533-A5 engine variants arefaithfully reproduced, including each engine type's unique performancecharacteristics. Each engine variant has its own sound set, utilizinghundreds of recordings from the real aircraft and FSLabs' unique 3Dsound design techniques to provide a truly immersive and realisticsound experience from every angle, whether you're in the cabin, on theflight deck or outside the aircraft. FeaturesHigh detail modeling with full PBR textures on the external model. The first aircraft title featuring CPDLC allowing users the unique opportunity to interact with ATC via datalink communications.A unique to the A321 fuel system without outer wing tanks found in other A32X variants, plus optional additional center tanks (ACTs) allowing a total fuel capacity of 23,770kg and increasing flight time by up to 7 hours.60 additional flight warning computer sheets of logic specifically for the A321-X variant.A new high-definition takeoff performance system generating precise performance features for a given takeoff runway.Custom ground friction models to simulate proper ground handling (single engine taxi).Brake models tuned to match real world performance in all weather environmentsOver 60,000 electrical components simulated and connected via simulated electrical and data driven networks.Complete flight control system, featuring Normal Law, Alternate Law, Abnormal Attitude Law, Direct Law and Mechanical Backup. The Fly-By-Wire system faithfully represents the feeling of flying the real world aircraftSource
