/images/notams/notams19/gfsg0417.jpgCrawley based Gatwick Flight Simulation Group (GFSG) havetaken the next step in securing their future with the stepping down offounder Clive Drake from the position of Chairman having maintainedthis role since the Group's inception in 2011. Clive has been replacedby Richard Harreiter, who said of the change; "We are completelyindebted to Clive for founding the Group originally and for the wayhis leadership allowed us to grow into the 50-strong organisation weare today. Clive would like to take a well-earned rest and just enjoyflight simulation at the flying level; I think we owe him that, so itis time for the administration to be handed over". In honour of hisdedication, GFSG have made Clive an Honorary Life President of theGroup. GFSG has a managing committee of five covering all aspects of thehobby and meetings take place every 1st Sunday of the month. Membersare encouraged to bring their PCs to the meeting where lectures abouteverything from how Flight Planning to Understanding Weather are runmost meetings. On-line flying for General Aviation is held everyTuesday evening while the same for Commercial Jets is run onThursdays. GFSG are hoping to live broadcast the lectures to membersso that the frequency can be increased to keep up with the differentsubjects and interests. Each lecture will also be available in alibrary for members to refer back to or in case a particular subjectis missed.
