liew
My FLy Tampa Kai Tak is showing this weird two checkerboards. Any idea how to get rid of this weird cartoonish looking checkerboard?
alain-simu
Hello, to land at KAI TAK (no longer in use...) the procedure was a bit special. The checker you see was used to aim before the last right turn to align the plane toward the runway. So, it is a part of the real life environment... I'm not an expert in land or city design, but there is probably a .bgl file to describe it in the corresponding scenery Good landings (try with a lateral wind, it's very hard, especially with a liner. There are many videos on youtube... vieil utilisateur de FS (depuis FS1 en 1982 !!!), passé à P3DV4.5 Config : WIN10, 64 bits. Clutch Cargo
If you take a look at real-world images on this famed airport, you will see the "checkerboard" is part of the design of the airport. It is not an anomaly. As one who designed and released a version of Kai Tak years ago, it was one of the unique feature that gave the airport character. To remove it, you would need to remove a .bgl file found in the scenery folder but odds are it is not designed as a separate file so you would probably remove many more features than you care to.
