ac103010
Hi. Can anyone help me with this issue? I've installed both FSX and SDK on my C Drive. In SDK I can find the Traffic Toolbox SDK but it doesn't contain Traffic Settings, Traffic Explorer, etc. Why would that be? Thank you, Allan
CRJ_simpilot
I see this. Is this not what you have? Is there something you read that says otherwise? OOM errors? Read this. What the squawk? ac103010
Hi. Yes, that's what I get, too. But I want to know how to access the timetable function. As here: Allan
f16jockey_2
In location C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX (same as FSX.CFG), open the file dll.xml. The entries below will already be present. You just need to modify them. Change the entry between and from True to False The entry between and needs to be changed to reflect the exact path to where the SDK is installed on yr computer. The last part will most likely be the same. The green part will be different and must be edited. Object Placement Tool False False F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll Traffic Toolbox False False F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll Visual Effects Tool False False F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll Save the file and start FSX. In the on-screen drop-down menu, some new entries will appear: The "timetable" as you call it, is found under "Explorer". ac103010
Hi. I've not got a chance to do this tonight but thank you so much. I'll sort in in the morning. Thanks again. Allan
ac103010
Hello again. I've got to ...........roaming\microsoft\FSX and opened the dll.xml file. I have the same as you displayed abover except I have "True" as you suggest. But I cannot change anything in this file. Is there a procedure, I'm missing, for editing an XML file? ac103010
Belay that question. I think I've sorted it. But going to bed, now and I'll edit it in the morning. Allan
ac103010
Hello again. Right, I've followed the instructions to the letter (or so I believe). My Paths to the FSX Folders are: C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK Launch dll.xml False False Object Placement Tool False False C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll Traffic Toolbox False False C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll Visual Effects Tool False False C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll FSUIPC 4 False Modules\FSUIPC4.dll Saved the dll.xml file but still don't see TOOLS in the dropdown menu in FSX. Any ideas?
CRJ_simpilot
Are you sure the path to the SDK is correct? It looks like by default the file path is: Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\... Yours is just C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK, i.e. no letter X. See the compare and contrast. Click on the thumbnail. OOM errors? Read this. What the squawk? pomak249
Having similar issues namely that SDK SP2 will not install keeps stating SDK SP1a should be installed first which it has been? I take it the SP1a patch is just an overwrite of the contents of the original RMT SDK folder from my deluxe disk? i5 4690 (350mhz) with Arctic Cooler, 32GB Patriot Viper 1600mhz, ASUS Rock H97 performance MoBo, MSI Ventus XS OC 1660GTX 6GB, Windows10 64bit, 256GB and 500GB Crucial SSDs
ac103010
Hi CRJ. I didn't think it mattered so long as the path is the same. However, I've edited it and added the X. I also edited the dll.xml file to reflect this. But still no joy. Not getting TOOLS in the strip menu. Allan
pomak249
Hi Allan same as you i have tried countless variations but nothing shows up for me, dont understand why sdk sp2 will not install either so time to bin it for me! f16jockey_2
Assuming the paths correspond... Both of you could check if the correct version is installed. Windows Settings -> Apps & Features Enter "sdk" in the search box, and see what gives. Maybe post a screenie as below Wim
ac103010
Checked. Mine was SP1A. Now installed SP2, so I have: Microsoft Flight Simulator X SP2 SDK Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Acceleration Checked the dll.xml file. That hadn't changed. But still no TOOLS in FSX. ac103010
They are in my Apps and Features. The Paths remained the same in my C Drive.

Allan OK, now we're getting somewhere. You were SO close. In stead of installing SP2 SDK (download), you should've installed SP2/XPACK (from the DVD). You'll have to uninstall the SP2 SDK (in Windows Settings -> Apps & Features). Then install SP2/XPACK from yr Accelleration DVD (SDK folder). IMO that should get things working. From the FSDeveloper Site: FSX Acceleration Pack OR FSX Gold Pack users To install the SDK for FSX Acceleration Pack OR FSX Gold Pack: Install the RTM SDK from FSX Deluxe Edition disk 1, (see 3.1.1 FSX Deluxe RTM users instructions above).Insert your Acceleration Pack DVD.Browse to the subfolder called SDK\SP1a\Install the SDK SP1A from there using fsx_sdk_sp1a.exe, (dated 26/09/2007, size 165,569KB).Browse to the folder called SDK\Install the Acceleration SP2/XPack SDK using sdk.msi, (dated 06/10/2007, size 216,929KB). ac103010
Hi all. I hope you all had a good Xmas. Happy New Year to everyone. I haven't responded to advice on SDK, I've been too busy, but will try to sort it in the next few days. Allan
