Need Help Setting Autopilot Please!

Hi: I am having difficulty finding the correct setting to program the “ALT UP” and “ALT Down” on my Autopilot…I have the HDG settings ok, but what do I choose for up and down? No choice seems to be present to choose! (Lots to learn!)…Thanks,

I am by no means an expert on the autopilot, but I do know that not all of them have the Alt Up and Down function.

More information is needed from you, which autopilot are you using and on which plane?

Here are the Autopilot functions I've set on my joystick. You'll probably want the Reference VS along with the Reference Altitude buttons. Hope this helps.

In some planes, you hit VS, then "nose up" or "nose down," then click on ALT to level off when you're where you want to be.
