Approach and landing

When you create a flight plan and select arrival runway will the gps navigate you to the approach to that runway?

The GPS will not take you to the approach. You will probably be assigned your selected runway by the tower, but that may not correspond to the current wind.

 

You can select an approach on the the GPS when you're in the plane and it will navigate you through the approach points. Just make sure you have an intermittent waypoint in your plan and you select an approach BEFORE reaching that waypoint. If you don't do this you may get routed back to the previous waypoint before continuing to the first approach waypoint.
