FSX Startup Question

Out of the blue, FSX just began hanging on startup. I have FSUIPC and have the logging turned on. Anyone know what its getting hung on from the log? It gets to this point and just sits - forever if I let it.

I would google this perhaps?

"Trying to use SimConnect Acc/SP2 Oct07"

Having had a quick look could be this and your Saitek Throttle?

I got it running. I'm not sure what it was, but I had to delete all the files in /Documents/Flight Simulator X Files.

I have no idea how saved flights could have been a problem. Or maybe the logbook.bin?

Anyways, I'm back in the air.

Thanks for the input, tho.

If that was the fix, it's probably a bad FLT file or something. Sometimes a very long list of those files can muck things up. I will go in every now and then and delete the oddest and just leave the last two flights.

You mean delete the oldest, right? I hate when those settings files get corrupted and there is usually no way of knowing unless one removes the settings and documents folders for FSX and try running it again to create new folders and files. It probably happened to me only once but I see people posting in forums with such issues regularly.

You'd go into C:\Users\[Your_Username]\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files and in there organize all files by date of modification. Now delete all FLT, PLN and WX files except the most recent flight which would be the 'previous' files including its weather. Make sure you don't delete your logbook.bin file otherwise you won't have your logbook entries in the Sim. I backup mine. If you have a saved default flight don't delete its corresponding ICAO airport code file. Mine is KFNL so the two FLT and WX files that say KFNL will not get deleted.
