RiggerPJS
I'm pretty disappointed in X-Plane 11 and am considering FS2020. I have an Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop. Specs are: Processor Manufacturer: Intel® Processor Type: Core™ i5 Processor Model: i5-7300HQ Processor Speed: 2.50 GHz Processor Core: Quad-core (4 Core™) Graphics Controller Manufacturer: NVIDIA® Graphics Controller Model: GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti Graphics Memory Capacity: Up to 4 GB Graphics Memory Technology: GDDR5 Standard Memory: 8 GB Memory Technology: DDR4 SDRAM Total Hard Drive Capacity: 1 TB Will it run FS2020? Thanks fr your help!
plainsman
I don't know if you could get it to run, but it wouldn't do it well enough to enjoy it. I7-9700K, RTX-2070, Asus Strix Z-390-H MB, 32gb G Skill 3000 CL15, Corsair Obsidian 750D case, WD Black 1tb M.2, Crucial CT500MX SSD, Seasonic Prime 750W Titanium PSU
RiggerPJS
That's the answer I'm looking for. X-plane runs well on my computer...I guess I'll just stick with it. Thanks.
tirith63
I agree with plainsman - good assessment. Pretty sure it will run, but you'd have to dial back the settings pretty far to get a usable frame rate. My friend has an i5 box and gets a good experience out of MSFS, but he also has an NVidia 980ti and 16 GB of RAM . If X-Plane runs to your satisfaction on your machine, that might be the way to go for now.
Livio_PWG
Hi all, I'm running an gaming laptop with similar specs - Inspiron 15's 2.5GHz Intel Core i5-7300HQ CPU, 32GB of memory, and 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. MSFS runs on Medium with 23-28 fps in an average city, bush adventures were no problem with some settings upgraded to MAX ie AI buildings, ground textures. I run the GPU at 68oC mostly maxed out with the CPU between 60-70%. I run a house fan over the laptop so that it doesn't melt during long sessions ?? - the fans inside the laptop sound like a small jet -free added bonus- Ram usage is 16 gB or 50% of available - SSD drive contains the game. Cheers
plainsman
You have 32 GB of memory, he only has 8 GB. I7-9700K, RTX-2070, Asus Strix Z-390-H MB, 32gb G Skill 3000 CL15, Corsair Obsidian 750D case, WD Black 1tb M.2, Crucial CT500MX SSD, Seasonic Prime 750W Titanium PSU
lmhariano
Similar specs to mine (8300H, GTX1050, 8GB RAM), so it's easy to say: it may run, but don't count on that. Mine had CTDs almost every two flights, so I uninstalled it. One trick: leave FPS unlimited and use RTSS in Scanline X/2 mode. It will do the same as the 1/2 Refresh Rate tweak in Nvidia Inspector. That was the only way I could stop stutters. Now, if you aren't still sure, try paying for XBox Game Pass. First month is $1 in the US. You can cancel anytime.
