Cas141
Hello I am enjoying flying the JBK DC6, having just started on propliners. I have downloaded the Diego Barreto sounds from the library here to install in the DC6. I have extracted the files from the zip and I have a folder with sound files in it and a sound confg . I have looked in the JBK DC6 folder but I do not see where to put the extracted files. Can anyone tell me how to do it please? TIA Edit- I have done this before ( some while agoí ½í¸€),which is why I expected to see some sound files in the DC6 folder, but I only found the config file. However opening that, I see that it instructs to alias the DC3 sounds. I see a light! So, do I change the DC 3 folder sound files for the new files, or do I put the downloaded sound files in the DC6 sound folder and change the config file alias instruction? If I do the latter, do I change the instruction just by deleting the line? I'll make backups of both planes sound folders before doing anything, But would appreciate advice as to which way to do it. f16jockey_2
So, do I change the DC 3 folder sound files for the new files, or do I put the downloaded sound files in the DC6 sound folder and change the config file alias instruction? Second option, but overwrite sound.cfg with the downloaded one. Your first option would destroy the DC3-sounds. Another option: in the JBK folder, create a folder sound.Barreto. Copy the downloaded sound.cfg and sound files in that folder. In aircraft.cfg, for each [fltsim.x] section, change sound= to sound=Barreto. This also gives you the option to easily revert to the old sound. Wim Edited June 9, 2020 by f16jockey_2
Cas141
Thank you for that, I followed your advice and changed the sounds, I don't know if it's because they are fs2004 files used in fsx, but they seem to "disappear " when I get to full throttle. I'm running in windows XP. It's no big deal, but would be nice if they "took" full throttleí ½í¸€
