Pan view in 2D cockpit

Recommended Posts

hello

with my Logitech FORCE 3D PRO pan view with coolie hat is working ok in 3D cockpit but does not work in 2D cockpit.

I am new user of FSX SE. Years ago I was using FS9 and it was necessary to add someting in the FS9.cfg file to get the pan view.

Is it the same in FSX? What to add?

thanks for help.

In cameras.cfg change the lines in red.

This file is located in C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX (the same location as the active FSX.CFG)

[EDIT]Noticed too late you're using FSX-SE. File location may vary, but I think it's the same?

thank you again for your detailed answer

yes file location is the same in FSX SE.

this is what I have currently in the original file:

ShowPanel = Yes

SnapPbhAdjust = Ordinal : I should change to Swivel

SnapPbhReturn = True : should I change to No ?

PanPbhAdjust = Ordinal : Ishould change to Swivel

PanPbhReturn = True : should I change to No ?

What is Snap vs Pan ?

what is this Return function in both cases?

thank you for your patience.

Both lines with = Ordinal to = Swivel? YES.

Only then you'll be able to pan around.

Both lines with Return in it.

Depends on what you want. If = True, then the view will return to centered when you let the hat-switch go.

My idea would be to just try both options, and see what you like most. It won't break anything.

Remember to make a backup. In fact you already did by posting yr current content in this thread .

hello

I did the change and it works OK. the only problem is the pan speed of rotation is much slower in 2D than in 3D . Is there a way to define the pan speed of rotation 2D the same than 3D?

thanks

thanks

yes I can see that in the camera.cfg file; curiously pan and spot views have the same rates defined but there is a real difference in pan view in both types of cockpit; but it is not a big deal, I can live with this.

I am sorry to disturb you again but you have a lot of knowledge to help me starting to FS X -SE versus FS9 I was using in the past. I have tried to search everywhere in this internet site or in the FSX-SE Learning center and help, but still have lots of problems.

I have problems with keyboard assignments, some of them described in the help of Learning center .

for example, view zoom in press= is ok, but zoom out press - does not work.

in the settings controll the assignment is different : chase distance increase CTRL+=, decrease CTRL+ (nothing!), none of these 2 assignments work. So I am lost! Is there specific assignments for Azerty keyboard?

in the keyboard shortcuts assignement is there a difference between qwerty and azerty keyboards? As a french I have an Azerty?

I have noticed that many other keyboards assignement do not work !

release parking brake should be : . does not work.

are you living in Belgium as indicated hereabove? I live in France.

thanks for your help. Best regards
