The Steam Slickrock MULTIPLAYER Carrier adventures

Slickrock

Recommended Posts

I am doing what few people do in the history of FSX. That is host PUBLIC aircraft carrier adventures with very little hassle. Certainly not what has had to be endured up to now. The famous Slickrock host on Steam has France, England, and Pacific locations called Carrier landing. This one is off the coast of Brittany at Lorient:

Good carrier Endeavour! Why don't you post more pics using the built-in system here on that forum? :pilot:

You see, that's ALWAYS been the problem with this. I can take a bunch of pictures and what about videos? I would like to do that as well on something other than youtube. But, I can share more than just pictures. What you see here is a picture, with me directing it, a fully capable multiplayer situation where anyone on this forum could join and take their own pictures. I'm not sure with the direct connect thing, but if you have a Steam account, I can put this aircraft carrier off the coast of Brittany, and anyone can land on it. Again, here are the links to the R98 Clemenceau and the de Gaulle, if you wish. https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/7361/fsx-pa-clemenceau-scenery/

Here is the other main file for the pilotable carrier I like to use AND you can join in multiplayer with this one as well. No "special" IP's to memorize or anything. Just look up my Hawaii or any other "carrier landings" on Steam's public muti-player.

I will say I've been practicing with the F-14, and I'm not too good at it. It seems like a very heavy aircraft to me. I guess it would feel heavy, being a two seater and all, as opposed to the Mirage or Rafael, which I really like in the photo. When I do actually trap the Tomcat, if I don't stall and crash first, I think I'm coming in pretty hard and if I think so, then I usually am. People run on and on about AOA and the "concepts" thereof, when it's something you can actually feel. A famous pilot talks about the "feel" of flying the Mirage, for example, as opposed to fly-by-wire, and I just know exactly what he's talking about. Anyways on that F-14D, maybe I need to stop with the loaded fuel tanks which I now do with the Douglas F2H carrier landing. I now come in with less than half of fully loaded fuel. It seems to be the only way I can keep from breaking the nose gear clean off the airplane.

Well, enough of that, and here is the download link; it's fun; and it works in multiplayer. Don't forget that the install, if you have Steam is not C:\Program Files/Microsoft Games/ etc../etc../...

It's C:/Program Files(x86)/ Steam/steamapps/common/FSX.. In fact, go ahead and get every aircraft carrier on this page. I can host with all of them.

Then, after you do that, go ahead and find the Pensacola NAS scenery, which you can easily get, and then download the CV69 scenery. Then, anybody can not only have the update to Pensacola KNPA, but the fully muti-player operation south of Pensacola, about 18nm out in the Gulf of Mexico there:

When I host this on Steam, I call it Florida carrier landing.

OK! I see, that's more a mutiplayer Endeavour in fact. I'm not that much multiplayer but that may interest other simmers here

Thanks for your interest. I haven't thought about that for awhile but I also have the "fraps" program, which takes video in increments.. I don't know how that would work on here if at all. But thank you for that and I wish to post more pictures from aircraft carrier operations using my favorite planes as well.
