Galland flew with D-EHEX, which he called "The fat one \ Der Dicke" until 1980, when the aircraft had 2320 hours. In 1981 it was sold to George D. Huss, the US ambassador to Bonn, who registered it as N222VH. It was damaged in a landing accident in Siegerland in 1986 and is currently in Thun, Switzerland, still undergoing repairs. flightsimg
Hi! Great story! Amazing to learn that Galland, that WW2 German ace, flew in such a GA plane! It had at least a retractable landing gear ;) Gérard Guichard, Dijon, Burgundy, France. i5 Intel processor, 4 Go of Ram, Nvidia GeForce 920MX, DirectX 12.0, and FSX Gold Edition with SP1, SP2.
