I've managed to locate and download the Dave Garwood Dh89fsx.zip for FSX. I have two skins from Jan Kees Blom for Dave's Dh89aV4, which I am unable to locate and searches of several websites, including CBFS, can't surface it. Where can I find this download? thanks.

Hi SSI01,

I found Dave Garwoods Dh89aV4 on the Classic British Flightsim site easily enough. Like you, I looked at the version I had (Dh89aFSX.zip). Dh89aFSX.zip appears to be version 3.

On the CBFS Home page the aircraft manufacturers are listed - Avro, BAC etc. Click on "DeHavilland", then click on "Rapide". A page will display, with 2 pictures and 6 zipfiles. Click on "CBFS_Dh89a_V4p2.zip" and download it. Its about 69Mb.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

"What makes you think these paints exist for fsx?"

-Every texture file in the referenced texture ends in .dds. That's usually the case for an FSX file, isn't it?

-Texture.cfg included in the texture file is in a format common to FSX texture files.

-The aircraft.cfg file entry title in the "readme" file states: "FSX Dh89 V4 Dutch Air Force Gelderland."

The "DG FSX" file I am trying to use shorthand for is, in full, "Dave Garwood de Havilland Dh89a Dragon Rapide V4 for FSX (SP2 / Acc) & P3d." That's a bit much to be printing out in full every time you want to use it when you're under the weather. I've been flight-simming since the mid-90s and have lost track of the times folks have posted a texture for a sim aircraft that contains just the texture files - and that's it. Not even a .cfg entry. The rest you've got to figure out on your own. That's a form of shorthand, isn't it?

Your first post reads to me as if you have the fsx plane (fsx.zip), as if you also have the fs2004 version of the plane, have 2 textures for the fs9 version, and you then assume they exist for the fsx version as well.

Nevermind, I'll leave you guys to it. I'm tired as well.;)
