cobra50
Hi All, I'm planning to buy a new PC mainly for P3D. I'm a newcomer to P3D but not to flightsims, flown since FS98 till FSX. As of now P3D 4.1 is out which will be installed, as i know myself i will be installing lots of addons like ORBX,PMDG,Weather engine and more ... My main concern is the amount of RAM ,should i go for 16GB or 32GB, i will be running a 4K monitor. From what i have read on forums P3D V4 does not reach the 16GB limit with addons. Other hardware whcih will be installed is listed below: Cpu -- I7 8700k MEM -- 16 or 32 (based on your feedback) Corsair speed 3000 Mhz 500GB SSD + 2TB SATA 7200 GTX1070 PSU FSP Hydro G 750W Liquid Cooled corsair h100i v2 Thanks a lot, Regards,
willy647
Hi and welcome Nice setup 16GB should be ok for P3D. Buy 2 x 8 so if needed you can always expand. If you are going to run a 4K monitor, I would advice a GTX1080
cobra50
Hi, How about 1440p? Thanks
vgbaron
1080 is better but I ran a 4K monitor with a single 1070 with no issues. I added a second 1070 for SLI which was ok but not exceptional difference. Switched to a 1080ti and noticed a significant difference. 1440p should do fine on a 1070. Agree that 16gb ram is enough.
