DC-4 engine sounds / throttle position question...

I guess this could apply to any FS aircraft, but I have one aircraft where the engine sounds do not drop in pitch or 'growl' when I throttle back to cruise power, it remains sounding the same as when I used take off power. No other aircraft I have does this, default or add-on. Is there something I can change in the .cfg file or .air file to make it sound right when throttling back, and if so, how is that accomplished. I am clueless when it comes to editing anything except for copy/paste things.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Two comments:

1. Keep in mind that, with constant speed props, the sound may change based on RPM but not so much with power. You ought to take off with close to max RPM, then back off progressively during climb.

2. Easy solution is to find an aircraft with sound that you like (probably something with large piston engines) and use that aircraft's sound for the DC-4. To do so:

a. In the DC-4 folder, give the sound sub-folder a unique name, perhaps 'sound.original'; this will back it up in case you want to return to original.

b. From the aircraft you like, copy the sound folder and paste it into the DC-4 folder.

c. Ensure that the sound reference in the aircraft.cfg file leads to the new sound folder.

Go here and try this ('real') sound download (19 mb) for DC-4. Might be better (did not try).
