autosetup
This is my 1st try out, of OBS, freeware recording, with, as usual, Sony Vegas rendering. In this version of the Just Flight TriStar, the Auto Land doesn't work, so I'm going to see if the AP will land it without turning it off or flaring for touchdown. DLC comes into operation at flap 33. 700 fps touchdown. Now I can work on reducing that to around 200 fps. ILS 111.9 076. Vref 136 + 7 @ 330,000 lbs. 10 mile vis. nil wind. ZD951 was retired from the RAF in 2014. I've tried this at Waddington and Coningsby, but it doesn't work there, as the ILS doesn't line up. Maybe because they're both modded.. autosetup
Practising ILS approaches into this short runway in Sardinia. Costa Smeralda LIEO, ILS 109.9 055 ISM. 330,000lbs Vref 136 + 7 = 143 kts. Fair weather, Vis 20 nm, nil wind. Lockheed L 1011 TriStar, KC1, ZA 153. DLC operating, 100 fps touchdown. OBS recording. I read up on how RL pilots, coped with The DLC and how the flare was performed. This is one of them. Another would be to disengage auto throttle and press the TOGA button to disengage DLC, then perform an ordinary flare. ..
autosetup
I watched this type of approach into Schiphol, used by a 747, so I thought I would give it a try with the Tristar. ILS approach to 27, then break left to land on 24. It proved more difficult than it looks to get it right and it wasn't helped by a 737 turning on to the threshold. ILS 111.15 268. Vis 10 miles. .
