VirtualReality
Each cockpit is fully enclosed (with sliding door), 4 speaker surround sound (with amplifiers), multiple DC power supplies, large AC isolation transformer, Alienware Server (running Windows 2000 Server), 5 multi-functional displays, one multi-function 12" display, many cooling fans (control area and cockpit area), foot controls and more. Key collimate Display Components: Glass Mountain was acqiured by FlightSafety. We are expecting more detailed information,. An individual remembers the basic configuration supplied as: C-20 kit designed for use with a 20†monitor. It used a 40†radius concave first surface collimating mirror and entertainment grade beamsplitter The difference between a concave mirror with beamsplitter for simulation vs a projector or large computer screen is important. These size mirrors will only work for single pilot simulations. The Monitor placement, the mirrors mount, the beamsplitter would be a great way to start any sim development. The software is pre 2007 directx 7 running and no longer really supported. The controller card from the PC to the cockpit was pre-USB. It maps the keyboard functions to the multiple monitors via discrete serial wiring. My suggestion would be to buy what is now a low cost programmable Keyboard Mapper and set the controller to work with almost any sim software. The Alienware Servers (xenon processors) will need a Windows OS upgrade. The dual graphics cards should also be upgraded. The 20" VGA monitors resolution would offer a super view given the virtual reality of the high quality mirrors and beamsplitters. Cabinets and doors are well-built with plastic facade. It is a great starting point. The seats adjust and slide. Each cockpit weights around 550 pounds dim 3.5'w x 7.5' L x 7.5' H These might be a great idea for a hobbyist, school, training, or convention demonstration. The set of 12 are for sale at $3,000 USD each cockpit.
VirtualReality
http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php?t=30397 There were multiple photos of the system removed from the cockpit simulators. There were only a limited number of simulators made. Many are being reused for these parts. Probably only half of the approx 100 survive hat this point. The images include a upgrade monitor. By searching the "C-20" and beamsplitter, it appears these are popular where floorspace is a premium.
