~Adventures flying Carenado's C90 GTX King Air~

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Apologies for my lack of comments recently, I'm struggling to find much time to fly at the moment.. If I'm not at university I'm on placement, working or playing in my band!

Anyway, here are a selection of shots from my recent flights in the excellent C90 GTX. Thanks for coming along for the ride and take care!

(I plan on taking my new Real Air Legacy into France over Easter once Jan has finished flying it under low bridges) haha/

You have a knack for good screenshots, Steve, aided -this time- by the fact that the Beechcraft 90 is a true beauty to look at. I really enjoyed these photos. Thank you for sharing.

What a beauty Steve, great job showing her!! :)

Thanks Adam :D

Looking good Steve ! Have flown the real Kingair 200 and 100, but apparently the 90 is the real hotrod. Love the modern panel and winglets. Great set here ! Mike ;)

Wow huge respect, this one is very quick in the cruise and with the pro-line system it's handy flying Vnav approaches (Which I cant do in the T-DUKE which is my favourite twin of all time)

Do you have this version? I'd be very interested to hear of your real world experience compared to the sim :D

Thank you very much :D You are right though, Carenado aircraft make it very easy :)

Sorry not to have posted sooner, but I just couldn't force myself out of those comfortable seats! Steve, they are so comfortable I don't have a clue where we went, I fell asleep almost as soon as I sat down, don't even remember take-off! You must have done a great job, and the landing had to have been a greaser, didn't wake for that either. Let's do it again some time, eh?

haha you crack me up! She really is a comfortable aircraft and very quiet for a turbo prop! My heart won't stray too far from my Duke though, my favourite all time simming aircraft :D

Thanks guys for all your comment, its MUCH appreciated!

A lovely bit of work, for sure. The only thing that detracts from perfection, is the perfection!?

It's just too darn clean and shiny! Lend it to Adam for a couple of days. That'll fix it. — Bob

I know exactly what you mean and tend to agree, personally I would like both a well worn aircraft and a shiny new one!

wow, those are gorgeous - so real looking!

Thanks Buddy!

Took the plunge and got this aircraft the other day, Steve. The aircraft is quite nice..especially the flight dynamics. I do not like the FMC functionality though. I haven't figured out how to make the darn thing accept a .pln...or can it? Because I was taking off from a small airfield and going to another small airfield, I had to manually input the waypoints into the FMC. Took me a while to figure out how to do this without erasing the waypoints, haha! In reading the documentation, it doesn't mention anything about being able to import any generated flight plan. Maybe I missed it somewhere?

I've just bought the new Citation CJ2 too and now with it's new update it's fabulous -I think that's what the GTX needs, another update to be honest as reading the forums there are still issues. I'm not much of an FMC man and I find as long as I can get to where I am going, shoot a Vnav or ILS I'm happy really. The proline system Carenado implement is very realistic but for many they hope to have PMDG levels of system accuracy, but where Carenado really shine is giving the look, feel and immersive quality. Apparently a real King Air pilot speaks of this addon very highly! There is always the GTN750 mod from Flight 1 which I'm tempted to do to the CJ2 (if I decide to buy it).. oh and by the way, watch those engines as they will break on this aircraft :D
