Jim Robinson
Can phpvms even use FSACARS? I thought FSACARS had it's own scripts that you build into your own pages? phpvms (or someone) would have to supply a custom receive_pirep.php I think that works with FSACARS to inject the flight data into the database in a way that phpvms can make use of, do you have such a thing? Jim Robinson
You'd put the special receive_pirep.php on a server and set it up so it can write to your database (passwords, path, etc.), then you put the URL to receive_pirep.php in your FSACARS.ini. When you (or your pilots) submit a pirep through FSACARS it sends the data to receive_pirep.php which injects it into the database. Your phpvms pages then read the database for your pireps page, pilots, etc. FSACARS is basically a PITA, there must be some better way of doing this in 2016 I'd think but I don't know what it'd be. I haven't played with any of this stuff in 10 years and I never tried phpvms, I just used the FSACARS scripts and wrote them into my own site. FlightUnlimited
fsacars v4.0.15 is already built into PHPVMS... Your pilots just need to download the FSAcars config (XXX.ini)from your PHPVMS Site....
