jparnold
I am wondering how easy (or difficult) it is to create a 'texture' (repaint) an aircraft. I have the Feelthere Embraer E195 and cannot find any textures for Australian liveries anywhere. I am not afraid of editing images. Is it as easy as using an existing texture, remove existing logos etc using a non colored part of the fuselage by using that color to 'paint over' existing logos and then cut and paste a logo from a different aircraft? Failing that does anyone do these things for others? aeroplaneman
Hi, Repainting will be easiest if you have a paintkit, which can usually be found on the developers website. From there you can follow a series of steps that work for any aircraft. I don't have the FeelThere 195, so it would be difficult for me to paint that for you. I recently made a 5 part series going through the complete process of repainting. The first is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rt0-5ZdwyoI. I'd be happy to answer any further questions you have. Hope this helps :)
jparnold
Thanks for the reply and information. I assume that the files to edit are the DDS files (converted to BMP) and when I looked in the TEXTURE folder for one of the liveries which comes with the aircraft and converted some of those obviously for the fuselage (there are many) I quickly got turned off the idea of repainting. Could not find a paintkit on the Feelthere web site. Thanks anyway.
