OK! Let me give you as much information as possible...:p

I have FSX SE running on a Windows 8.1 computer it is a 64-bit

Today I was flying the A2A C172 (I dont know if this could be a factor), there are times when I click the alt menu and a drop down appears. When I click on where I want to FSX freezes and I wait. Then it will either just bring me to the desktop with no error report, or it will give me a report. From what I have read it could be Microsoft C++.

Here is my info that could help including the error report and my versions of C++...

Can you check what is logged in Event Viewer on the crashes:

Start > type eventvwr in the "Search programs and files" box and press "Enter" > expand "Custom Views" > "Administrative Events"

Look through the "Administrative Events" for Application Errors involving fsx.exe.

Double-click on each event for more details.

Check several of the errors and see if any file other than the MSVCR80.dll is indicated as the cause of the error.
