bubba070
My Asus G55vw has recently been replaced and the replacement has Windows 8.1 on it. On the original unit I had Windows 7 and FSX worked great. Now with Windows 8.1 it constantly crashes. Is there a fix for this? Below is from the event log..... Thanks in advance.. jorgen.s.andersen
As far as I can see, you have the wrong version of the file uiautomationcore.dll on your system. Search the threads here, and you'll find links for the correct version. Get that, and drop it in your main FSX folder, and nowhere else. That should take care of it. bubba070
That seemed to do it. I have been running it now for an hour and it has not crashed. Prior to this it would run no longer than 1-2 minutes. Thank you
jorgen.s.andersen
Glad to hear it worked. I saw your FSX is installed to the default location at C:\Program Files (x86) - if it is at all possible, you might consider uninstalling and then reinstalling to for instance C:\FSX, or if possible to a separate hard drive, to get around possible problems with add-ons and User Account Control - but that will be a LOT of work! If you're OK with the way it works now, then by all means leave it alone. Jorgen
bubba070
Will do, I have another hard drive on the computer that thus far, has nothing on it. Thanks again
