Hi Uphill,
No, no, no.
When I moved here I arrived with my flight bag, devoid of flight stuff but full of clothes, etc and a smile.
My computing device and other cool stuff I collected over the years I stored at my brothers place.
When I finally was situated comfortably (after a few years of rampant craziness) I asked him to
shoot it down here.
He's an MS Tech so he upgraded it and checked it all out for me (Can't trust the bro then who.....).
$500 and a week later it finally arrives.
You have to live here to experience the ineptness of this country when it comes to simple things.
After 1 phone call from them and about 15 from me, we finally made a deal.
I would pay the driver 7,000 pesos for customs clearance fees and you guys bring it to me in Sosua.
He shows up first thing in the morning and drops the package.
Doesn't ask for dinero or anything.
Wahoo, got my box.
Run down to Ramon's and grab a monitor, keyboard, mouse and awesome speakers.
The CH controls also came with the box.
Plug everything in and looking forward to driving Canforce305 (Capt Sim C130) down to POP from YYJ.
"The shortcut you are referring to does not exist" or whatever it said.
WTF!
Downhill from there.
Fedex threated to sue me for the customs charges, emailed my bro and threatened him also.
Unbelievable.
Needless to say, I just paid over $500 for a paperweight.
Thanx FedEx, luv you but will never use you again.
Anyway, life goes on.
Cheers,
Dave
