All thanks for the suggestions but finally got it open!! The cmd prompt with the 2006 Microsoft KB298060 fix did it but only after I did a complete fresh Windows 11 reinstall! Tried the same fix with the partial reset and no luck. Only way was fresh install! I don't wish that on anyone!! Happy with my FSX back!

Top Gun, Great reply and not saying/helping anyone at all! Has this happened to you? Have you tried all the fixes? Do they work? My problem for weeks and nothing works, even with clean OS install Windows 11. Instead of "same fixes apply", give us one that will fix this!!!

Just tried but as soon as I push fly now, get the simconnect error. Flight loads and indeed checked the AS16 weather box but nothing. Still same error! Thanks for the idea!

As you say, in green says FSX connected but from there the simconnect errors appear!

The log says sim connect was eventually initialized. What does HiFi support say?

More log requests etc. but mo solutions. Im fact the last 2 days they don't even answer my requests for more info. Frustrating!

By the way have been told that simconnects are loaded wrong which doesn't say much as I download and install them so where is the "wrong" is my question! Thanks for the help.

+1. AS16 requires either SP2 or Accel.

Have original boxed 2 disk FSX Deluxe. Just. Installed AS16, that recognizes FSX but won't connect due according to error, no dimconnect XPack! Any ideas? Thanks

By the way, I did install SP2 SDK as that's what the error tells me to look in to get the SP2/Xpack from and there us no XPack anything! I was about to purchase the Acceleration pack but after seeing this entire post, thought I'd better not get into that mess! Thanks

Hi guys, love this thread! Mind boggling and trying to learn from it! Sorry to rehash all over again but I have a similar issue and maybe can get some help. Have the original FSX 2 disk Deluxe installed for over 16 years and everything started when I purchased AS16. My issue is that both programs, FSX and AS16 install fine but once AS16 sees my FSX, constantly refers to not having the correct simconnect installed and to use the one in SP2/Xpack which is no where to be found! Got to rhe point where, yesterday, I installed FSX, followed all the correct steps, used a registry cleaner, got everything out and reinstalled FSX, SP1 and SP2 and reinstalled AS16 and still get the same issues. One is the simconnect and anither has to do with the asv, think that was it. Been speaking with HIFI for over a week and seem to be getting no where with them and running around in circles. FSX works fine and AS16 installs fine, AS sees the FSX, it's when I start to fly I get both errors. On an orginal PC which came with Windows 10 and I upgraded to Windows 11 if that means anything. As nentioned, FSX has worked fine for me for 16 years and runs everything EXCEPT for AS16! It's driving me nuts!! Any suggestions? Thanks, Steve

I use my Bluetooth earbuds (Samsung) connect and fine, disconnect back to laptop and same low volume from the PC Realtek speakers. Mind, only on FS, speakers are fine with anything else.

Did that with my earbuds and blew me away! Worked fine. It's the game sound from the laptop that's the issue. When I installed it was just fine. This occurred all if a sudden while in flight. Was thinking of uninstalling and reinstalling but was trying to avoid that with all the setting changes and joystick assignments I went thru!!! Sent query to Asobo but they haven't answered.

Sure did and all at 100%. Only have this issue with FS2020, all other programs, music, etc, work OK from the speakers, just this!

Was flying and suddenly lost roughly 50% of my sound volume output. Did all speaker checks and driver checks, reinstalled, you name it, nothing worked. Checked volume meter and barely reaches the 30-40% level while all my other programs and downloads work great! Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Vern, what was it you did to calibrate the joystick? Don't see any calibration option anywhere in the 2020 joystick dropdown. Thanks

Probably a dumb question but having some trouble with calibrating my joystick with FSUIPC. There are 11steps in the process but only need to calibrate the ailerons, elevator, stabilizor and rudder. Could someone pass on a simple explanation on how to perform that and not the other options? I've tried and getting some fair results but not on all aircraft which is what I need. Thanks for the help!

DX10 unchecked and aware of startup etc but what would window modes have to do with it?
