Seems a dearth of questions. Am I missing something? Or in the wrong place? Or just getting old?
I havn't been here long, but there is a definite lack of soul. the old retainers don't engage much except with each other.
I'm sure it has a grand history but its fading away.

Yep, as In my initial thoughts, the bolts weren't even there https://avherald.com/files/Report_DCA24MA063_193617_2_6_2024 2_22_52 PM.pdf

I'm still in awe at how they worked out the dynamics at whatever the atmospheric pressure is on mars...I guess these rocket scientists really are quite bright.
Also I love how NASA publishes so much information on their work

For that matter, one could post the 'First Pilot's License' from every Country or from every Country's Bureau of Aeronautics, and the Title of the Thread would still be Correct...
You think?, OK How about I post "first probe to land on the moon was the Chang'e-4 in 2019"
PhrogPhlyer Absolutely, the French were Pioneers of aviation (I won't bring up the question of who actually achieved powered flight first as I foresee much feather ruffling)

Perhaps a slight thread title amendment would be in Order

Why do investors still get suckered in to this?
It was a silly idea in the 50s and it's still a silly idea

Rather oddly, current RAF training aircraft are painted BLACK for exactly that reason.
Yea I can say from experience that looking down against a typical UK Patchwork of farmers fields then White is great to pick out but scanning around in the sky, its not . Thats where Black stands out more and I think that's why the RAF Fighter trainers use it to try avoid mid airs during ACM training
Oh yea and white is great colour for alleviating solar heating which is why its a favourite for Composite construction aircraft, almost ubiquitous on composite gliders for that reason

You're forgetting that the NG and 500/600/700 SERIES will all have been in production for a long time now and there safety record is mostly from airframes far older than 10 years
Nobody has said Boeing have been crap at QA all through history, but evidence is building that recently they really has been awfull

If substantiated this is quite damning.. QA at Boeing and the door plug
Personally I'll not board a 737 assembled in the last 10 years, I know the odds of an incident are still small but sod em the company needs to be sent a message and the FAA also who have been complicit in allowing Boeing to sign off much that should have been independently audited.
Regarding the 737 itself, I regard the MAX versions as an over stretch of an existing design that should not have even been built and rather the 757 developed further, but the MAX made sense to the bean counters that seem to have been in control of Boeing for the past couple of decades

Just fantastic

Strange, there was no reply tab showing a few hours ago but now there is.
Anyways as far as the 4 bolts meant to stop upwards movement of the door plug so as not to move past the restraining pads being Loose, going by what info is publicly available as of now id say its more a case of them bolts not even being fitted. pretty shocking if so
This drawing shows the bolts in question
the door plug is held against pressurization forces by the 12 stop pads , the four bolts simply prevent the door moving upwards so the stop pads on the plug no longer align with the stops on the fuselage frame. (it cant move down due the upper guide design

As Title, I see no option to reply to topics

I have a 7950X3D CPU and it is recommended to set the gamebar entry for MSFS to remember this is a game, which will hopefully tell windows to use just the VCache cores in MSFS.
Problem is there is no option to set this for MSFS in the gamebar. It is present for other programs but simply doesnt appear for MSFS.
Anyone else come across this?

Hello, I also get the occasional freeze since SU14, its been talked about a bit on AVSIM but with no conclusion, most of the freezes are partial as in a control freeze whilst still being able to look around the VC but nothing actually working via mouse click keyboard or other input.
If I hear of anyone narrowing down cause I'll come back to this thread
Are there no new simmers on FlightSim.com anymore?

Forums most definitely are the best format for technical discussion of any depth as oppossed to simple "what key do I press to do whatever" type questions beloved of those who grew up expecting a quick answer with even the effort of googling for themselves being too much.
But even Discord has implemented a form of threads into its app as it was realised that modern social media formats are crap at what forums do best.
I think that you are right to say that this age related change in demographic of simmers/gamers has led to a ever shrinking cadre of Forum users so activity diminishes.
AVSIM seems to be thriving still and I have thoughts on why that are probably best left.
