  1. Very disappointed, no T/C or T/D + more...Are you ok with what we got?

You're right, I guess you'll just have to fly the default Xplane, FS9, FSX or P3D default aircraft that have all those systems simulated. Oh, wait...

Come on...these are default aircraft; yet, they're miles ahead of any default aircraft released prior. Plus, they will be updated going forward. I guess you want all the systems included in a similar add-on aircraft that cost $130+? Heck, that one add-on cost 2.5x more than the default simulator.

  2. I'm not reluctant in expressing my opionion: Pilot's entered the market, late, and deserve ANY comparison levelled upon them. Its not ready from prime-time as it stands.

Things may change with the Hotfix of P3Dv5, but I won't be risking any change to my sim UNTIL a week or two has passed and the Hotfix has proved itself... I will NOT risk my sim at the hands of a late-breaking upstart!

Entered the market late? If you’re going to post aggressive statements, you should really know what you’re talking about. In point of fact, FS Real Wx predates all other wx engines; to that point, they were the first to enter the market almost two decades ago. Their V5 wx engine is simply a port of a product that’s been available for almost 5 years. They are far from a ‘late-breaking upstart.’

  3. Ok, watched it and speaking for myself personally, I'm even less excited now and that's the truth.

    Let's just wait for release.

That’s because your mind was already made up. Seriously, if you don’t like Froofle go to the literally hundreds of other videos/post to form your opinion. The MSFS developer have been remarkably candid and the pertinent information is available to allow you to glean the direction of this project.

I can’t believe this thread got 64 reply’s; it’s ridiculous as the topic is 15 years too late and been discussed ad nauseam. Seriously, the OP asked a question then proceeded to convince all those who replied why their wrong. To that point, it was he who was trying to convince you, vice you convincing him...

If the OP wants to stick with a sim developed 20 years ago, let him. The rest of us will move on to a modem platform employing edge computing, machine learning, and access to 2 PB of data,

This is a time to look forward to a fantastic future, not to regurgitate pointless debates 10 years past Relevancy.

  4. Howdy y'all! I'm new to new to flight and even newer to sims. I have 10 hours towards my PPL and should have it done by the end of the year. Next year I'll do my IFR, then on to Commercial and CFI. In my down time [and after 13 years without a desktop PC] I decided to throw one together and get into the sim world.

General specs are as follows, as well as periphery:

    i5-8600K 3.6GHz - Overclocked @ 4.0GHz

Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB CPU Cooler

Gigabyte Z390 Gaming SLI ATX Motherboard

Kingston Hyper X Fury 8GB RAM 2x4 (Ordering 16GB soon...)

    Western Digital Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200rpm HDD

    PNY 240GB 2.5" SSD

MSI - Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card (Upgrading to 1070 8GB soon...)

NZXT 500i ATX Mid Tower Case

Corsair Gaming 800W +80 Bronze Power Supply

    Microsoft Widows 10 64-bit

Asus VX238H 23" Monitor (Expanding to x3 soon...then VR when the new array-less systems launch.)

I'm looking forward to learning more and maybe talking to some of you soon!

If you’re just starting out, and plan to buy the latest sophisticated addons, I strongly suggest moving to P3D V4.5. FSX development ended 13 years ago; consequently, the biggest add on companies have terminated development and moved on to P3D and XPlane 11. If you don’t plan on procuring any add ons, you may want to consider the latter. It looks much better out the box than P3D. Again, it would be wise to start with a supported simulator vice one that most have terminated development for.
