Hi, J. It IS possible to put the simulator on pause, then pick up later. In the previous version of this sim (I don't have the current one, but others will be here) you could save the session and pick it up later, and you could even run the simulator at several times real time, that is, speed up the simulation by 2 times, four times or more, though going past four times made certain things awkward, especially with the sim's version of Air Traffic Control (ATC).
Since people are still commenting here on what they don't own, and passing along miss-information which is very dangerous in itself, especially for these types of events, here's what can be done and can't. You CAN use Active Pause to pause the sim - HOWEVER, and this is a BIG HOWEVER, your aircraft will still burn fuel and weather will change and time of day will change. You can also use the ESCAPE key to go to the main menu to pause it, however time of day will still pass and there is no way to go back to where you were earlier.
So yes, your son IS telling the truth in this version, there is no real way to pause the sim.

I love my Saitek Yoke, rudder pedals, and Multi Panel with autopilot functions. Great mini set up since my old Go-Flight stuff doesn't work with MSFS.
-
Great set as always Adam.
-
Good find loki - I knew someone would solve it.
-
Downloaded the sim from the Best Buy site and didn't see it on my system. All I found were the MSFS2000 stuff from FX Plane and deleted them to clear the way for MSFS 2020 but must have deleted the MSFS 2020 copy as well.
Look around on the Best Buy site - there MUST be a link somewhere to redownload your software again. I can't believe its just a one time only thing. Maybe under a menu like digital downloads or something like that.

This plagued FSX as well. It usually was from developers placing geographically correct airports on existing scenery where the trees did not belong in the first place.
I wish this were the case, however, there is a tree smack dab in the middle of our state's State Capitol building, which shouldn't be there, as it isn't in the real world - LOL.....those are the things that can be irksome about the AI Placement of trees. :)

Great work again as always sir, well done!
-
Nice set Mr. Peerehoven - before the time of expensive noises, I see!
-
Looks great Adam, I see you captured one of Peer's fine landings with the upside down one in that shot. :D

Love the Optica, even better if it's for the Ukraine!

I have noticed this as well. Apparently I am NOT the only one. A flight from halfway across my country to Boston was ruined by this with No final approach instructions given to Logan Airport. I hope they fix it soon!
-
Best of luck, and hope you enjoy it!

I noticed trees are a big issue with MSFS, and the only issue I see with it, sadly. They need to have an update which tackles the removal of extra trees where they are not wanted, like the middle of buildings in some, but rare cases.
-
Nice shots! Enjoyed every one of them.
-
Glad you're enjoying it. I could never again fly any of the older sims, for once you fly over the real world with MSFS, you're never going to want to go back.

There is no stock 737, so I’m guessing you downloaded the freeware version, which is riddled with bugs.
I can only suggest to redownload it.
Actually, that would be the Brodock Max 737 I believe. It isn't the best one out there. I'm drooling over PMDGs. :)

I have kept my sim up to date, but haven't flown since really Sim Update 6, since the last flight I did to Boston ATC totally ignored my aircraft and gave me no approach instructions, etc, in ILS weather.
How is it is what I'm wondering? Anything to be concerned over? I'm considering reinstalling my Oculus Rift and having a go at it again. I've lost interest for a while, but want to get back into it.
Thanks for your observances in advance.

The newest version 1.6 addresses the ILS issues that were present before.
But yeah as far as I know the runways are all there and functional.
Soooooooooo glad you became a convert to the MSFS causes sir, glad to hear this! That scenery IS incredible. I am personally eyeing the PMDG Simulations 737 for MSFS when its released. Sadly, I've reached a stage where I have not too much interest and I'm in a rut with MSFS at the moment. Maybe I'll rehook up my VR and it will spark it up again.

Yes you’re right. I spoke on a subject I had no business speaking on. My apologies sir.
Egg doesn’t go with crow by the way. Lol
Thank you - I appreciate that.
-
Hmmmmm, and I remember you giving me a hard time over it the last time. I love seeing people eat the egg on their face.
-
Gotta wait for Milviz to fix it. Nothing else can be done.
-
Easy fix: Camera menu, click on Drone Camera. :) That will do the trick.

Nice shots!!!!

That was a big surprise for me as well! How shocked I was when I ran out of fuel the first time on a longer flight when I paused and DID step away for something like that. I'm into realism with the sim, so I either try to land and refuel, or attempt to complete, but I was NO where near any airports and couldn't do it. The reload of fuel option is just not one I like to use if I don't have to. Can't do it in real life, so I don't do it in the sim. :)
I agree - they DID goof it up in that retrospect.
