  1. Someone fixed the add on and made it so it would work in the community folder rather than editing files. there is a link to the community version on the website.

I am not sure if this is the right place to post these. I find things and want to share them with the community but I don't want to put them in the library as they are not my creations and do not want to take credit for them.

  2. You can hold down the RIGHT ALT key and click on any gauge or instrument in the cockpit to open in in a new window. Then you can drag that window wherever you like.

I also found a little gem called spacedesk (freeware) in which you place the Spacedesk server on your PC then the app on either you android or Ipad etc. This turns your tablet or Ipad into another monitor for your PC. I have 3 tablets so I took different instruments on the plane I fly and placed them on each tablet. Very low FPS hit and seems to communicate well with the PC. The other nice thing is if you have things that use the mouse it is now touch as you just touch your tablet screen.

Unfortunately this does not work with switch panels.

    Hope this is helpful.

  3. I can tell you now I will still use FSX. It became my favorite game, 1 I'll remain loyal to for some time to come. The new MSFS is great, but its going to take me awhile to learn how to make it what I want.

    Happy :pilot: Flyin

This is exactly how I feel. I no longer run FSX itself but use P3D V4 and V5 but I consider them part of the FSX legacy. MSFS was great to fly around look at things etc but it is nowhere near what I want in a flight simulator. Perhaps someday but it isn't right now.

  4. An hour and three quarters is my guesstimation. Had other things to do. Average connection speed was about 180 mbs. Checked that twice during download. Did not even get to try it. Had to get some shut eye for an early work start. No money = No funny

The only reason I know it was less than an hour is the delivery guys were here with my new bed. I started it about 5 minutes before they arrived and it was done before they left and I was thinking "hurry up I have stuff to do" lol I am unfortunately stuck at home still due to COVID and being high risk but told work I was not working from home yesterday :)

  5. a few things

Slew: seldom use it, its not a flying issue, its a computer trick. If its not good maybe they will fix it later on

Taxi: now that we have an airport map we dont need progressive taxi anymore, neither progressive taxi exists in real life, another computer trick for gamers and youtubers

Yes "if you use the Bing maps" thats how this sim is molded, with Bing

About cities, it has never been a requirement that the sim brings top class cities, each city complexity must be provided by either freeware users or developpers.

PS: Never flown to Vegas either.

    Have you flown to Argentina?

The world is too big to please everyone and cover it all

Kapitan I get what you are saying and I agree you can't please everyone. I think part of it is me too, I got myself too hyped up. I think FS2020 has a lot of potential but I do not think it is quite there yet is all at least not for me. I will still tinker around with it and I want to see if I can adapt the aircraft I have made to work in it for the people I give them to but for a bit my main sim will remain P3D V5 yet not giving up all hope on FS2020.

  6. There are unfortunately a lot of things missing we had in FSX and P3D. I am actually disappointed and I have never said that about a flight sim since FS 4. The slew is horrible, if you turn on progressive taxi it puts a huge icon over the runway not to mention the interface is horrible.

Some of the graphics look good if you use the Bing maps but they are seriously outdated. The White House and Capital are square buildings and Vegas doesnt even light up at night.

This seems to have been developed for the console controller generation.

  7. I posted this in another thread but will repeat it here. I will personally be keeping P3D if for nothing else Lockheed made significant improvements to Flight Sim and this hobby as well as helped keep it alive when Microsoft abandoned it in 2009. I design supersonic aircraft for Flight Sim, mostly for my own use, so will definitely check out FS2020 but will be taking a wait and see attitude with it to see if this is a new MS that will keep their promises or abandon it once again.
  8. I have an Xbox One X and subscribe to the Ultimate package that includes the Xbox Game Pass which covers both PC and Xbox so I will be sticking with the version included in that. I have been in this hobby since 1995 and have watched Microsoft promise big things and not follow through time and time again then abandon the community after FSX. I am not saying I won't fly it just that I won't spend money on it till I see Microsoft follow through on promises they made. For me loyalty is important and Lockheed continued to develop FS with P3D to keep this hobby alive.

I am not telling people not to buy the new version, the visuals look amazing from the videos I have seen etc. I am just putting my two cents worth in and taking a wait and see attitude.
