  1. Hi again all. I dusted off my old CH Yoke, calibrated it and set it up for MSFS as per YouTube instructions, and I have to say it's working GREAT ! But I am looking for a good throttle set. I was thinking about the Honeycomb throttle set but I've read online and watched YouTube videos about the wires for the reverse thrusters breaking inside of it and for 350$ Canadian I really don't want the hassle. I'm seriously considering getting the Logitech throttle set as an alternative because they seem so simple and they're not so expensive that I'll be upset if they break. But I've also read about Logitech throttles having electronic noise and being of questionable quality. So I'm wondering how many of you have the Logitech Throttles quadrant and how you like them over the long term and if they're reliable ! Also if any of you have had the Honeycomb throttle quadrant for over a year how do you like them and have you had any problems.

I'm also looking at getting the CH Rudder pedals. I had them many years ago until one of my kids stepped on them and broke them. Any thoughts on those as well ?

Thank you all so much, and happy flying !

  2. So update to original post, I am currently logged into my pc as alway and I found out how to update my email via the notification tab on top of website. However I still cannot log into flightsim.com on my Samsung galaxy 9. I have confirmed my password but for some reason I can not log in on my mobile device, either with the Samsung browser or the mobile google browser. I have never had this problem before. Any ideas ????? Thanks again all !
  3. So I've been a member of flightsim.com since 2005. With cookies enabled I very rarely log out of the website. And I haven't changed my password since day one. From time to time I do log in on my cell phone as well but recently I can't log in on my cell phone because the website no longer recognizes my password on my cell. I'm now terrified of being logged off accidentally on my pc because I don't know how to change or update my password and I apparently don't have an email address assigned to my profile or if I do, I don't know how to find it. So how do I update my contact info and update my password if I should ever need to.

Thank you all for your help...

  4. Hello all you happy flight simmers. I live in Toronto Canada and I am wondering where I can order Natural Point's Trackir from. I see it on Amazon, but the brand that's available does not say Natural Point. It says MYXE or CASATX. and their hat pieces come in 2 pieces.

    https://www.amazon.ca/s?k=natural+point+trackir&s=price-asc-rank&ds=v1%3AiqYlZ%2FlwecPPyvr8YE%2FfIBcRmuL%2BwhgxpCYSxvIFRW4&crid=4ZQAS2DAWO5P&qid=1659253093&sprefix=%2Caps%2C53&ref=sr_st_price-asc-rank

The above link is what I get on my Canadian Amazon site for Trackir. I could always order it from Natural point but their shipping is super expensive.

I would really appreciate any recommendations.

Thanks so much all, and happy flying !!!

  5. Hi all. First off a belated happy new year and thanks to all for the great input on this forum.

There are so many great and well know YouTubers who give us much needed info and assistance with MSFS 2020 but there are a few who I find are absolutely stellar bur are getting very little recognition even though their videos are among some of the best and most informative.

So there are three in particular who I want to mention and hope you all enjoy the videos.

The first is The Flying Dad. He's from Australia. His videos are really well made and he's quite humorous so I find his videos are quite colorful. His link is https://www.youtube.com/c/Theflyingdad

The next youtuber also makes great videos that are quite informative and enjoyable and he's Dave McKee and his link is https://www.youtube.com/c/DaveMckee_TheCyclingNut/featured

And finally there is a fellow from Canada who really gets into the nuts and bolts of the aircraft characteristics and flight dynamics and his name is Wells Sullivan and his YouTube link is https://www.youtube.com/user/WellsSullivan

Hope you all enjoy and get as much out of these people as I do.

  6. Hi again... Thanks for your responses. I don't do group flights and I don't do saved flights. I've been using MSFS since summer of 2020 and weather has always been an issue but it's seems like inability to changing the time of day and weather type mid flight is a new thing. Btw... What MSFS website gives info on weather being unavailable. Is there a link to that website. The MSFS website I go to hasn't had a post since mid December.

    Thanks again all.

  7. Hi everyone and happy new year. So I'm having a few problems with MSFS and maybe you all can help me out.

Not only do I have no live weather, but once the flight is loaded up I can not change the weather options or even the time of day for that matter. I checked my MS connection and it's set to automatic and connection is good. Any one else having issues with live weather or changing weather mid flight ? I also cant change the time of day mid flight. I used to be able to slide the time of day scaler and it would change the time of day. That doesn't work any more either.

Thank you all in advance and happy flying in the new year !!!

  8. I hate to a a complainer because all in all I love MSFS but I started downloading this latest update at 8PM and it's now 12:14 am and I'm at 20 gigs downloaded so I've got another 10+ to go. Average 10-14 mb/s. Absolutely REDICULOUS. this is like dialup. Tried an ethernet cable and that didn't help. Turned off activirus and that didn't help either.

Next update I guess I'll try a VPN. I'm in Canada and I suspect that has something to do with it. Even though I'm on bell fibre optic and my average download speeds around 90 MBs.

  9. Hi everyone. To be honest I haven't been flying MSFS so much lately. I've mostly been watching YouTube videos about how to navigate so I can enjoy flying a bit more. I've been watching lots of Little NAV Map tutorial videos from P Gatcomb and BG gamer and a few others. Great videos on how to use Little NAV Map, but in their videos they can make Little NAV Map pop up on their screens while in MSFS. They can resize their Little NAV Map's and use them as a moving map. How are they doing that. What key strokes are they pushing to make different windows pop up while still having MSFS as the main event on their screens.

I've checked searches but maybe I'm wording it wrong because for the life of me I can't find the answer.

If anyone knows how to do this if love if you could charge it with me and others on this forum.

Thanks do much all. I love the great conversations and tops on this forum.

  10. Damn. I just watch that video. I found it super interesting. Two iconic planes. The only problem with watching that video is the once you've watched one video of a peice of German WW2 military equipment the next thing you know, the YouTube algorithm is sending you videos of Nazis rallies.
  11. Old news all.... It's FSTramp http://www.fstramp.com/

But u don't buy it one time for 40 US. U now pay a yearly subscription. It was always my favorite. But a little pricey now.

Any one know where I can get a good tutorial on Little Nav Map ? Also, how do I pull up Little Nav Map while I'm IN MSFS ???? Is there a hot key I can push and it pops up ? Or do I have to go into windows mode and open another window? Or can I use it on my Samsung Tablet ?

Thank you all in advance !!!!!

  12. Hey there alan4728 ! I've been flight simming for 20 years. Although not a huge poster here on flightsim.com I HAVE posted more than twice and I can say that as a long time flight simmer, this new Microsoft Flight Simulator is just fantastic. Way better than FSX or prepare 3d. Way better and easier to set up and navigate than xplane.

I have returned to flightsim.com just in the last few months as the new MSFS has arrived and the one thing that seems different is all the cry babies on this site right now. Where are all the smart people who know how to read and look stuff up and solve little problems ? When I first started on flightsim.com there seemed to be so many smart and enthusiastic people. Now it seems so much more negative.

When I first installed the new MSFS it took forever to download and get set up. But I did my homework and was prepared. I had a clean updated windows 10, all the latest drivers and I read a ton and watched a ton of great YouTube videos. Then I tinkered a bit and now the new simulator is running great on my machine. Smooth as silk even in New York with lots of dramatic weather. Thank you to all the great contributors here and on YouTube who helped me out. And for all you negative Nancy's who have posted twice in your life, go back to bed !
