  1. My first foray into X-Plane and 12. I have the Saitek Yoke and throttle quadrant, but no rudder pedals. In FSX, there is an option in flight controls to activate automatic rudder control. I've searched the Settings menu and Flight Controls but can not find a setting to couple the rudder control to the Yoke, to keep the aircraft from moving left or right from the centerline, on takeoff. Is there a setting to do this?

See below for a discussion of this topic and a Lua script to solve it:

  2. I am trying to get passed the First Solo Flight Challenge and the Instructor keeps failing me because she says I wasn't supposed to land there. I have followed the exact procedures from the previous lesson, climb to 5400 turn left, climb to 5700 and turn left, throttle down and add flaps and turn left, idle throttle and turn left, land. It never works for me as she says I ma not supposed to land there. What gives?

Were you expressively cleared to land? Probably not. You get a landing clearance only if you turn base at the right spot. The obstructor is very strict.

  3. No the intertia of the turning moment is way too weak. But there is "adverse yaw", an aerodynamic effect that yaws the aircraft in the opposite direction of the roll. You find more information about this in the net.
