I returned after a flight sim forum absence just in time to see some of the removed posts in question in this thread. I don't believe what has been explained here is quite the entire truth. I can also see after moderation the threads are left with a clear positive bias toward some users and a negative bias against others, my removed comments included. The threads would tell a different story if they were just locked and posts not removed. I did also see the post where Mr Daniels brought to attention the MSFS user with multiple accounts who was also constantly PM'ing Mr Daniels yet this has been completely hidden from public view and no action taken. It's very much as it appears, you must use MSFS on this site or be careful what you post.

I don't care if I annoy them as I have no intention of staying at any place like this.

  2. I think you fail to differentiate between the site operators and the site users. The FlightSim.Com operators really don't care what sim you prefer. We do our best to not play favorites. We'll report news on any sim, which you can hopefully see from our home page. Realistically speaking, though, these days most news is related to MSFS 2020 so even with no bias on our parts you are simply going to see us mention it more often than other sims.

People in their forums do play favorites, and no harm in that. I try really hard to have a light hand on moderation, but there are some who intentionally make it impossible. People who get moderated, get moderated because their postings attack other people. If you stick to arguing issues and not try to put down or attack the other people in the forums, you won't have any problems.

I expect far more content in every way for MSFS, that is not my concern or complaint.

My concern is you are locking threads as soon as someone doesn't like MSFS but then allow threads where people bash the other sims and leave these threads running. There are examples right now. I pointed them out clearly in the FS2004 forum and can point them out again here if you wish.

It means it is fine for MSFS users to post anywhere and say whatever they like but for users of the other sims you need to stick to your own forum and not dare say anything negative about MSFS even if it is in your own forum and not the MSFS forum. That's what is happening. The restricted users that I know of I can see appear to have been very unfairly treated and mods from other sites are carrying on vendettas from the other sites here against these users. It is hard to believe it is all allowed to go on.

  3. +1 Most of the members that have these restrictions on their accounts are pretty much well know throughout the flightsim communities and the same thing applies to them elsewhere, also. ;)

You are that AVSIM mod? Correct me if I am wrong.

I've read enough of the posts from the restricted members to understand what is going on.

  4. If they are growing the hobby and pushing one sim it should be stated. I don't like MSFS. I like FSX and I think it's better. I can't say this. I could say I like MSFS and I think it's better than FSX and that would be an appropriate post. They've got rid of members for doing this? I don't believe in such control in 2022 and it was wrong in any time period past. They can ban me as well.
  5. I've been here a long time despite not posting frequently. This makes me angry. I own MSFS, FSX and FS2004. Why is this site not neutral to all these 3 sims? All 3 should be supported equally? There are a host of very recent threads I've read that if the smallest mention is made against MSFS the MSFS members will attack you and then mods will shut the thread. If you flip the coin why doesn't this happen to negative comments against FSX or FS2004? Right now there are 2 threads running in the MSFS forum bashing FSX and FS2004 and those threads are all good to proceed. I use mostly FSX and MSFS and will again use FS2004. I would like to know I can comment openly positively or negatively on any of the 3 sims. Is Microsoft funding the site? It's difficult to believe it is not.
  6. I didn't even see this before making the above post.

Here is another MSFS forum thread, you can say this against FS2004. It's all fine. ;)

Or move threads like that to the FS2004 forum where most people hate MSFS 2020 and would love those threads to validate their use of a 20 year old piece of software. I think these people are seeking attention and are trying to instigate arguments to get our threads shut down rather than trying to find help with a problem.

    I am gobsmacked.

    Dear Sir, Mr. Mark Daniels!

“Goodbye to the members in this forum. My posts are now under moderation and I have no interest in staying anywhere where I have such restrictions. All the best to all and long live FS9!”

I’m sorry, but I do NOT understand these parts of your sentence:

    1. My posts are now under moderation

    2. where I have such restrictions

Are you trying to convey that “THIS” entity Flightsim.com, is acting like these CRIMINEL Social Media Outfits like Facebook, TWITTER and the rest of this crap ??

Please reply to my email address, I believe you should still have it because I sent you some files before, but here we go.

    Sincerely

I read your post a while ago and thought you were a little over the top with your comments. I will now sincerely apologize and have to state I am very disappointed to see how this site is being run.

There are threads in the FS2004 forum and the MSFS forum which were immediately locked due to negative discussion toward MSFS. In the meantime there is currently a thread running in the MSFS forum commenting against other sims and this is fine? You can state that FSX is clunky, control system is no good but a suggestion that MSFS is clunky results in a locked thread?

I'm with you G. Kirschstein and Mr. Mark Daniels.

There are very clearly double standards here. I've been on this site a few years and always considered regardless of sim choice, flightsim.com would support each member equally. It is not the case. I've found the rules are you can comment against a sim as long as it is not MSFS.

I would like to know if sites like this are now being officially funded by Microsoft? I want no part of it and wish to post somewhere that is independent.

  8. Not Helpful LOL

    Me?:p

There is only one new flight simulator program I'm aware of and if I was to use only one simulator program, it would not be the new one. Does that help more? :D

  9. That's how long since I've run it, I've had FSX and MSFS. I'd like to install it again. Is there anything that has come up in the last 4 years I need to know about or take into consideration? It'll be a major task to install the sim and all the addons and I don't want to find out about something after 20 hours work.
  10. I purchased MSFS on release but I'm happy to be back to my FSX. I loved FS2004 prior to FSX and it ran so well. I'm going to install it again. Looking at the thread topic, while one man leaves, another man returns. :pilot:
  11. No, the jetliners that are able to fly like the Blue Angels isn’t realistic at all, but honestly, I didn’t buy this to get a real world license.

I didn't post to create arguments but you highlight it above. I don't want to see who is standing at my house. I want to see how a plane flies. I'll keep using both sims as I can see there is no community interest to make MSFS anything other than what it already is and I'll have to accept it.

  12. To all, my system is fine and I can run it well with the highest settings. I am not complaining about it's running performance, I'm complaining about the many issues it has that after 2 years, it still can't match the old flight sims. Graphics are nice but not everywhere and you very often see flaws.

I'll still persist with it. I'll probably always use it but if I want to flight sim, I'll use the older sims. If I want to just play around and do silly things, I'll break out MSFS. I feel that's the most it will ever be good for. I could enjoy it for those reasons but as a proper replacement for my old flight sims, it is not. FSX to MSFS is not like FS2004 to FSX. The latter was a flight sim upgrade. FSX to MSFS feels like two completely different products not because of menus etc, but because one feels like a sim the other feels like a game. FSX should be for daddy while the child plays with MSFS. Sorry, do not mean to offend it's just how I feel. I wish they would get serious and turn it into what we all want, a FSX upgrade.

  13. I can't see what's the point of coming here to complain about something that most here love.

Wish you the best of lucks, anyway.

That's the problem from day 1. People want to accept it and if anyone says anything else they get flamed. I notice on all the forums the complainers have been chased away but all the problems the game has are still there. We have every right to complain when basic elements of flight simulation are not there. AI is terrible, weather is terrible, there are so many issues and yet people just want to say they love it! Sorry, I think this is the best way to get short changed. It's been 2 years and all it has is some pretty graphics if you fly in the right places. We should all be complaining. We paid for a bunch of promises and watched a bunch of promotional videos that are anything but the product we have installed on our computers.

  14. Sorry it is. Microsoft made great flight sims but this isn't a sim, it's an arcade game. It gives me the same feel as train sims. Microsoft Train Simulator was really good but the modern train sims I tried don't have the same realistic feel. Pretty graphics but that's about it.

I'm trying to like MSFS I really am but it feels like I'm playing a game and not really simulating anything. It doesn't give me the same feel of excitement any of the other sims always gave me. The updates are annoying and a waste of my time. The bugs are annoying. Parts of the world are annoying. US and Europe you appear to need to always stay around for best results. I want the entire world available to happily explore like the other sims. I'll persist with it but first I want to go back and have a couple of weeks using one of the older sims to relieve my tension. Very frustrated.
