Use the free Lorby Prepar3D Addon Organizer from this site
https://www.lorby-si.com/downloads.html
It will create the xml file for you.
Download the documentation on how to do it

If you install scenery outside the Prepa3d folder, you need to put a xml file in C:\Users\[your user name]\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons
Normally you get the xml file with the download. You probably need to edit the file to point to the folder where you installed the scenery

+1 for Litthe Navmap !!

Prepar3d needs space on C: to unpack the app. If your space on C: is too low, the best thing to do is to temporarily move a (large) map onto another drive. After P3D install, move is back to C:

Look here
Its live traffic, but there is also an option to have just static airplanes
And its free :)

How much free space on the drive (which drive, btw?)?
, and then, especially if this is a SSD, the "Defrag and optimize" also.
Jorgen
NEVER run defrag on an SSD drive !

Quote from the OP:
"I have Prepar 3D Version 3 installed"
Jorgen
P3Dv3 is 32 bit, so you will need fsuipc version 4.975

You need to buy a subscription from Navigraph
Seen also my PM

No, Hyperthreading is turned off so it only runs the 4 REAL cores, that's why it's 14, and I have it overclocked to 4.66 GHz.
Jorgen
AM 14 = 1110 , so the sim runs on 3 cores.
P3D uses all cores (also the HT cores) for loading scenery - just a shame to turn them off
-
Google "affinity mask calculator" - there are several guides on how to calculate that out there.
The current trend is for Hyperthreading to be off - this is turned on or off in your motherboard's BIOS.
With that off, the AffinityMask value for my i7-7700K is 14.
Jorgen
So, with your 8 threads i7-7700, you actually turn off 5 threads and run the sim on just the remaining 3 ????????
As it happnens, I also have a 7700k. HT on and AF 253. (leaving 7 threads for the sim)
My P3D v4.5 runs perfect.

" In some of my scenery the installers come with a P3D option "
Make sure this is P3D v4 and not v3 (which is 32bit just like FSX)
-
Try this. Not sure it will work for v4.x but give it a try
