  5. Glen, I am going to try to say this in as inoffensive way possible.

You don't strike me as the kind of guy who has mastered his computer. You also don't strike me as a person who takes direction very well.

If my assessment is correct, you are just asking for trouble to start putting addons into FS2020. The sim is still being substantially revised on a frequent basis, and many of the addons are using conjecture rather than documented knowledge to fabricate their addon. The SDK isn't even complete yet. Many of these addons will cause you immense grief if you don't know what you are doing, and clean your community folder before each update. I don't have any addons at this point. I am not saying they can't be deployed successfully, but I am warning you that you will become one of those chronic disgruntled if you don't know what you are doing.

I think you would be far better served, to master and enjoy the stock aircraft and scenery, until a more final SDK is finished. At some point, it will become possible to add addons with little problem, but I don't think we are there yet for folks like yourself! You were warned!!

    BS...

  6. Wow! the availability of "Airports" is at a saturation point! 3 or four per day! from all quarters. I ask? who is going to buy all of them?

and who is ready to spend such high prices for them?...

And, hardly any Aircraft!...I am tired of flying the MSFS planes , which for the most part, fly so bad! and sound horrible!...this is one

Item I miss from FSX and P3D, most of the X-plane ones are really "caricatures" and the good ones are priced for the Elites!

So, that's that from here.... have a good day!

  7. You completely miss the big picture. Yes, some of the the scenery in MSFS is "beautiful", but -- like the real world -- much of it is not, e.g., big-city slums, blocks of industrial warehouses, desolate wastelands, etc. What it IS, is realistic -- the first sim to attempt to model the world as it actually appears, which it does not do perfectly but comes amazingly close, in my opinion. No other sim remotely approaches what has been accomplished here.

Secondly, while MSFS has experienced some issues on launch, as has happened with every previous flight sim program, it has become clear that many of the problems you and others attribute to "bugs" are not problems inherent to the program per se, but are caused by improperly configured computer setups, inattention to detail in configuring and using the program, and other local issues. The fact that many simmers have not experienced these so-called "bugs" proves this. "Then came along X-plane and P3D with practically no bugs at all", you say. Really? I have seen enough comment from users of those programs to know that this statement is nonsense. Bottom line, get real.

You sure have no idea what you are saying. You are a "gamer" not a Simer and have not been around when FS9 or FSX rolled out....Their bugs were minimal and fairly easy to fix by tweeking. Sorry guy, many of us Know what we are talking about...Stop playing and Go Vote! (If you got the age)

  8. When FSX was born it had many bugs, most of them were hardware related, and if you had an office type PC you would suffer for months.

But if you had a fair PC most bugs were cured by tweeking the FSG. Then came along X-plane and P3D with practically no bugs at all, some here

and there but none really detrimental to the function of the Sims.

Today Asobo/MS have given the community what I call a "Beautiful World Scenery flying Game" full of all kinds of bugs, with very unstable software which is almost impossible to tweek. Forums are full of simmers complaining about, Flight physics out of wak, instruments in planes not working, hardware which does not couple with the game, Impossible Auto Pilots, very low type ATC,Weather not working properly, and worst of all Updates which destroy previous settings which had taken hours to get right.

The game is still in Alpha or Beta, but not as a commercial product you and I paid for. Maybe you

can blame the Plague, for many companies are in heavy need of Money, Asobo could be in that situation, and out this game came for them to collect, MS is sure not in that situation.

For months, not to many, Asobo placed their wonderful scenery videos, and their guys talking a lot telling us how wonderful they were programming this game, physicall forces in the aiplane surfaces that you would feel while flying, weather that would astound you, beautiful real like planes, but if you remember their emphasis was "Scenery" and Yes they sure got the "Scenery "right, they sure did. But so far a very faulty Sim if at all. There are many cases of people still downloading the game after 3 weeks!!!, their servers continually loop or restart from 0 the blessed download, and No Answer from Asobo or MS about this incredible situation, but true!!! As an Alpha tester I was surprised when they suddenly started selling the game. It has today as many and maybe much more bugs than when in Alpha and early Beta.

I am sorry this so much expected Sim has turned until now into a "Beautiful World Scenery Game, which you can skim all over"....Let's hope it does not go the "MS Flight" route which also had nice Scenery.

  9. Downloading this game is a Nightmare and their Patches a further more. As you probably know, we who bought this, are the Beta Testers. Asobo never finished this to a level where things ran "fairly" smooth. The whole job is so full of bugs, a camel's ass has fewer!

So with glee everyone jumped into the pool. to find hours, days and even weeks for the download servers to punish the enthusiasm of so many thanks to Microsoft's incredible lousy servers which spend most of the time "looping" the download.

I commend the Graphics of the game, never before so beautiful and real. I ask, why not Start with these wonderful graphics and a "basic Flight Sim? not trying to cram everything ? even the most unneeded button of the panel of the aircraft? they crammed the whole thing to such a state that now tryng to sort out the thousands of bugs is their Nightmare and ours.

I wonder for how long will Asobo stand the whirlwind of complaints from so many, and wonder if we might not be looking at "Flight" Number 2? maybe in a few months Asobo will fix this thing to a sim reality, even with some bugs still around, or just close the dam thing and leave so many with their mouths open and surprised.

All the Sims have had bugs, but really? with all the Videos they put out telling us how great and wonderful things would be with this one?, airflow over surfaces, great planes, super controls, etc, etc....(Did you ever hear of the famous Old West Dr. Kool all cure medicine?)

For 49 years I fooled with software development and since my University days I learned that to finally finish a good software package you started by making small blocks and build over them the details to eventually have a sound product that, even thought a bug would jump here and there, it was fairly easy to catch it and solve the problem.

Asobo, as they themselves told us a few months ago, had programmers which had never flown a small plane, their boss said he had never flown one until they took the job. When I heard that I wondered and remembered that the "boss" of Flight had been in the "Playing card game software development of the botched Game". Don'i misunderstand me, you don't have to be a pilot for this, better if you are, but you must know real good stuff about flying, aircraft instrumentation, weather etc.., like my programmers in General Accounting programs, they din't get the job if they din't know accounting!

I sincerely hope Asobo or someone else, gets a grip of this mess and comes out winning with a nice product which all of us can enjoy. There will always be a "bug here and one there", just like the previous MS sims had but not the the magnified scale this one has.

I hope to be flying MSFS in 2021 in nice blue skies after the great storm passes or if it does not, I will do so in FSX or P3d like I do today.

Again let's hope for the best of both worlds.....

  10. Osobo is NUTS!!!! MS is Crazy and very dishonest!!!! ok, some history: when the game came out you downloaded and it might have taken some time but you Got it!!!!..then the first patch= CHAOS!!!!! then the second patch=CHAOS!!!! if you have problems download they say GO HERE" MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR TOP ISSUES TRACKER and what do you find a Rosary of Problems that they say you can TRY to solve TRY, for they are NOT Sure!!!!!, but NONe work!!!!!!..these people are totally inept and ratty!!! I have a pretty good rig which comply to all their BEST specs!!! But after starting the first patch and getting stuck 3 or four time, I forgot, it still is trying to download after three days TRYING!!!!...these OSOBO guys are either totally inept or Crooks of the fist Kind!!! MS has always been so this is no surprise..What apiece of $%^&*!!!!!!! this is.......I'llwait two weeks for them to solve their server & download situation....what a bunch of goons!!!!!..AMEN!!!!
  11. Overall, without any 3rd party add-on's MSFS is amazing compared to what is currently available including FSX, P3D and XPL11! Of course, MSFS needs some patches being as it was just released. I have been flight simming longer than most of you in here and trust me all of the sims released since FS98 have all needed patches and a top end computer to run with sliders to the right. Welcome to flight simulation!

There will be more patches and 3rd party add on aircraft will arrive! :)

You are absolutely Right!, but its a Shame that after so many years after FSX these people did not learn enough, MS wants money first then after years you'll have a real Sim....
