  1. Great video, I also remember doing flightsim on a very "basic' Sinclair ZX81 with the 16K memory expansion and a cassette player. It was great, it was the Timex 1000 I think, in the US, but I put the whole compter together over 3 nights, it came as a kit. I still have it!!

My first computer was also a ZX81 with the 16K memory expansion, I was lucky, mine was not the kit version, after that I upgraded to the Sinclair ZX Spectrum which had 48K ram, a 3.5 MHz Z80 cpu and boasted an 8 colour display.

  2. Avoid MSFS. Like the plague. My recommendation is P3d. You won't have to deal with 130 gig of updates every month. And it handles `off book` flight manoeuvres, whereas MSFS can't be called a flight simulator yet. And I'm a real pilot and my advice is don't rely on any sim.

Take real lessons from a real pilot. There is no substitute for doing it properly.

I don't have MSFS yet, but AFAIK updates are only a few GB's not over 100GB's.

  3. If you are only buying a platform to fly MSFS on, then with all the ASOBO nightmares I would recommend Xbox at this time! And as mentioned pricey PC components if you can get them!

An Xbox Series X if you can one! Here in the UK PC World has stopped listing them and only offer the S.
